Autocar Says A BMW 335iS Is On The Way, Are You Buying The Rumor?
More news has hit the 'net regarding the 335iS, a car that AutoSpies is hotly anticipating. Although the boys across the pond will not be getting a taste until after the U.S. and Canada, they still find it as intriguing as we do.

With leaked materials finding its way online last week, the 335iS will be equipped with the 3.0 liter, six cylinder twin-turbo motor said to produce 322-horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Rumors have placed the iS with an overboost function that will be good for 369 lb-ft of torque on tap.

This car is set to give the 335 a bit more punch, more or less like the E46 330 performance package a.k.a. "zhp."

Autocar reports:

"BMW plans to launch a hot new 3-series to bridge the gap between the 335i and M3 models.

The BMW 335iS will not initially be made available in the UK or Europe, however, with the firm instead selling it to US and Canadian customers.

BMW showed a similar concept with the Z4 at the Detroit motor show with the Z4 sDrive 35iS, billed as the most powerful in the range in the absence of a full M version..."

I don't see any reason to doubt about this.

the 335is is definitely coming, if you go to your local BMW dealer they can already take orders for 2011 335is convertibles. No coupes yet, and apparently the one I'd want (sedan) BMW isn't building, but there will definitely be a 335is in the U.S. this Spring.

FACT
I work for BMW and in my order system for the 2011 3 series, only the 335is convertible is available for order. It will be a march production and the coupe will be an april production. I suggest you put your money down and order one!

Not quite.

Seems that leaks of info have not confirmed it for the U.S.

When it is confirmed, then we'll say it is old news.

Sure, with BMW's recent approach of a model for every sub-sub-sub-market segment on the earth, I am sure that this will not be the last.

The 335ixSd can't be far behind.
