You know those kooky Eastern Europeans, always up to something. But a new car maker has emerged from Russia, the Marussia.
Although these guys have been on the scene for approximately a year, they have turned out mostly concepts. Now, we have video of working examples. I guess we can take these guys more seriously, as they are not just distilling vodka anymore.
After digging a little,
I found their site which says that the B1 features a mid-engined 3.5 liter V6 producing 240-horsepower, although it can max out at 300. Although that may seem underwhelming, the car is said to weigh just above 2,400 pounds. Currently, the company is working on a racing version as well as expanding into producing sport-utility vehicles. Quite ambitious!
Is this car a waste of time and effort OR is it the company's first foray into what can be an interesting and successful future? Weigh in on AutoSpies.
SuperForza reports:"Russians aren’t just spending their new wealth on foreign cars and luxury items, they have started to produce their own line of expensive stuff. One indication of this is the Marussia Supercar, which as you can see in the video looks like a cross between the Veyron and the Pagani Zonda. The cool things about the Marussia supercar is not only the fact that it has a JDM engine, but it is a hybrid drive. The ruskies went a step ahead and equipped it with things that you don’t really see with these types of cars, hell, you don’t see some of these things on a Mercedes-Benz."
