BMW to co-develop and share the next-generation Mini platform
In what appears to be a complete turnaround, BMW Group now says that it is willing to co-develop and share the next-generation Mini platform with another automaker.

Wolfgang Armbrecht, Mini’s vice president of brand management, said that the door is still open and that it has to be realistic as far as economics are concerned. PSA/Peugeot-Citroen SA currently supplies a 1.6-liter gasoline engine for Mini.

That's cool. It would be nice if BMW/MINI gets with M-B/smart to c0-develop larger smart models. The two smaller brands would do well to compliment each other in growing more competition in their segment.
