VIDEO: Take A Closer Look At The Most Advanced Cadillac
The latest and greatest from Cadillac, the XTS, made a little splash the Detroit Auto Show. Likely to replace the DTS/STS, the XTS will be a very important vehicle for the brand going into the future.

As the flagship, it needs to represent the brand with a bit of zest. And, it does. Looking a bit like a mash-up of the CTS and the upcoming ATS Concept -- that we got an early preview of -- the XTS wears a conservative and handsome face. The long body boasts "Cadillac form language," and 001 feels that the backside channels the "Cadillac of old."

Straight from Cadillac, here is a video breakdown of the design details and the designers influences, directly from the people who made this car possible.

Note: Look at the gauge cluster's motion at the 2:53 mark. As we reported after the Detroit Auto Show, General Motor's higher ups are confident this system will surpass Ford's SYNC.

Brutal!

I think with this car it shows the company's plan to move in the right direction towards substantially better MPG, quality and unique interiors.

It's not a bad car, but it's a disappointment. The XTS is intended to be Cadillac's flagship and should be a world-class machine able to compete with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the BMW 7-Series, the Lexus LS, the Jaguar XJ, and the Audi A8.

Instead, we get a V-6 powered front-driver that comes across as an extra large Lexus ES350 or like a Hyundai Azera. There's nothing inherently wrong with such a car, but it is certainly not worthy of being the make's flagship.

Luxury car buyers deserve better.

Luxury car owners are going to have to deal with the horror of six cylinder engines if we are going to stop supporting Hugo Chavez.

This vehicle is not a front driver. Its AWD. (Now if you were to say XTS' AWD is FWD based, thats another story)

Caddys in Hawaii is a wrong investment cuz there's actually no service dept here. No dealerships either.

Best looking Cadillac ever, imo. Just beautiful.
