BMW aiming to recapture its crown in the mid-sized luxury sedan segment
In hopes of gaining back its crown in the mid-sized luxury sedan segment, BMW is releasing a sleeker-looking, larger and more technologically advanced 2011 5-Series.

Klaus Draeger, BMW AG board member for r&d, said that the sixth generation of the 5 series is how a BMW sedan should be with aesthetics and efficient dynamics. Draeger predicts that the US will remain to be the car’s top market. This model will be competing against the radically restyled Mercedes-Benz E class, which is available in more variants and aggressively priced.

As mentioned above, no need to recapture, rather to defend.

Ya, its good to be king. At the end of the day, its just you and the car. Not some wannabe fancy lights and cool looking controls. Just a nice driving vehicle and the open road, thats what we should all be after in the end.
