EXCLUSIVE: First Real Life Shots Of The BMW 335is- All The Fun Of The M3, None Of The Guilt
Surprise! Agent001 was not just in Portugal for the all-new 2011 BMW 5-series launch, but he was also there for the introduction of the all-new 2011 BMW 335iS. This has been a car we have been hotly anticipating.

After speaking with 001, he had very good things to say. He reported back to me that the iS gets good mileage, has a superb exhaust note, bears exclusivity over the regular 335 equipped with a sport package, AND the best part of all:

Unlike aftermarket and modified 335s, this does not void your warranty since it comes tuned directly from the factory.

Prices start at $50,525 -- including destination -- for the 335iS coupe.

001 said that this is a very compelling offering and that he would consider getting the 335iS over the M3 coupe since it is approximately $9,000 cheaper.

Want more? Check out the newly launched 335iS gallery, which has over 300 photos -- more than ANY other site on the 'net.

Does the iS get the thumbs up or thumbs down? Peruse the photo gallery for the best photographs from 001, only here on AutoSpies.

I think BMW did an AWESOME Job on this BMW 335iS. It look really good and I love how it look realy aggressive at the front end without exaggerating it.

I love it. And yes If I was in the market for a premium sport coupe I would might buy it.

I wish they would turn the boost up and just make this the M3, you shouldn't have to pay 70k for an M3. They should be within range of 20-somethings with a good job and a few bucks, not just old rich guys.

No I'm not shitting you, and I'm in college so yea you're right about me not having a well paying job, yet. It's not sour grapes, I just think the M3 should be more accessible. Or maybe you were just offended by the old comment.

Does anyone see this?

5th shot down, silver side profile picture.

Cover the front/rear taillights with your hands but leave the rims visible.

That profile SCREAMS M6!!

True. Even the front bumper resembles the M6. Compare pictures to see what I mean.

Manual Transmission?? That is not available on the iS.. only the DCT or "Sport Automatic" is listed.

WILL THERE be a ture manual? Unlike the Z4 SDrive3.5is?

Nice, but I'd still go with the M3.

Right. But if money is a concern, it makes a nice alternative and you can keep some spare change in your pocket.

There will still be a huge difference between this vehicle and the M3. I have driven the M3 and currently drive a 335i sport. The 335i sport is an amazing vehicle, but the M3 is ridiculous! It is light years ahead of the 335i and if the price point is not of concern, the M3 is worth it.
Of course, it is all relative to what you currently drive.
If you look in the February issue of Car and Driver, one of the editors says his favorite vehicle was the Ferrari F430, but now the M3 has won that title.

Boy, I agree. My daily beater is a '07 335i and today I drove a '10 M3 with DCT. Really impressive and not in any frame of reference does my 335i compete. There is a 35K difference in price between my 997.2 C2S and the M3 I drove today - that M3 is ALOT of car for the money.

Didnt this have a different name a few months back? Or am I crazy? Or am I thinking about a tuned-up 1-series?
