So, You Want To Know What Puts The
So, you want to know what makes the 335iS THAT much better than the 335? Have no fear, the Spies have you covered.

According to BMW, the "S" is added "to signify a higher level of sport orientation."

Inside and out, the 335iS has plenty of little touches to ensure that you know it is unique and exclusive over the regular 3-series. From the revised front and rear bumpers, blacked out kidney grills, sport exhaust and engine modifications, the car is a comprehensive step forward for the 335.

Still curious about ALL the details? Check out the slides below.

Nice gallery. This puppy is tempting and will probably be a better daily driver than the ///M

i'd buy this car right now if i could. only in manual transmission. no all wheel drive model either. that just takes the fun out of it.

Thanks for the info, this is going to be one hot car! Of course, we all know the real world 0-60 times will be lower. They always underestimate the 0-60 times.

So is the spring rate upped? Current 335/sp package is kinda soft in front.

the car looks awesome but speaking of the 0-60 times, why does bmw only compare the souped-up N54 twin turbo engine in the 335iS to the new single turbo 335i *WITH xDRIVE??? This tells me that the new N55 engine is just as fast as the 335iS engine, and the only way to make the new 335i looks slower than the 335iS is to burden it with the weight of xDrive 4 wheel drive.

If you must know, most AWD cars post quicker 0-60 times than their RWD counterparts b/c of increased traction despite their overall weight disadvantage. Comparing the 335is to the 335i x-drive is impressively justified.

@schnell

Rom is right, the AWD 335's were testing a bit faster than its RWD counterparts.

Supposedly the 335xi 4-dr was the fastest...

S? Is that like an S-Line?

Right! Because the s-line predates BMW's usage of the 320is in the 1980s.

And I thought Audi fanboys can't get any sillier. And every new post proves me wrong.

WHOOP a whole article on one letter in BMW's nomenclature! My life is complete. LOL, there should be a side website www.autospies.com/bmw where we can post all this as it appears to be cluttering up all other relevant auto news.
