Spyker To Announce Purchase Of Saab For $75 Million Later Today

Spyker is set to be announced as the buyer of Saab at a press conference this evening.

A conference has been scheduled for 19.15 CET this evening - 18:15 UK time.

The deal is reported to have been signed with GM today, with news agency Bloomberg saying it has an emailed statement from Spyker confirming the sale.

If GM couldn't make SAAB profitable...How does Spyker think that can?

Don't worry. - the Dutch have always been pretty savvy business people.
They'll figure out way to make a buck.

Maybe perhaps Spyker is more efficient in production/costs... Or perhaps they do not have to pay ridiculous amounts of health care/union related costs that drove GM to become so ineffective...

Hmmm... Spyker... hopefully they make a production version of the Aero-X concept. Also, I hope they move the brand up market... I see saab being able to make more money as a luxury car maker then as a Hyundai competitor.

The next 9-5 is nice and is a really really good looking car and so is the 9-4X crossover...I hope they get their quality up and sell you a car with a hot Swedish blond mail order bride named Inga that comes with it!
