First Photo Of Apple iPad Tablet Spied? Will It Someday Power Your Ride?

First Photo Of Apple iPad Tablet Spied? Will It Someday Power Your Ride?
Outside of what's going on in Haiti, there is NO story bigger than what Apple has in store tomorrow regarding the immenent tablet announcement.

Rumors swirling call it the iPad or iSlate (I personally prefer iPad) and the net is on fire with speculation.

So we thought we'd post this pic from Engadget that claims it is the real thing...or as we say in the car biz, the iPad 'Mule'.

So since it's the iPad speculation eve, let's talk about its future potential in the vehicles we drive.

Apple fans, discuss on Auto Spies....

Have to agree here, this was a STREEEEEEETCH to make it car related.

It's a tablet, yawn. Wake me if they release an iPhone OS update!

Frankly, I don't think the posting is out of line. Apple will work closely with auto manufacturers as there is a growing movement to integrate these portable computers into your car- which makes so much sense. Not only do we have phone via bluetooth and mp3s via USB/bluetooth, but soon we should be able to text message (and likely so much more) without touching the phones via the cars on board systems integrating with the iPhone. Like it or not, these high powered pocket devices will be taking over our cars soon.

To bring this in an auto perspective. Toyota was at the top before it over extended itself. Is Apple doing the same with iPhone and iTablet ? Will their stellar reputation remain with so much emphasis on sales numbers and profit ? Much can be learned from Toyota's experience.

Spies - I like all of the car biz stories and even a gov story or two, but this is going too far. Stop it.

Actually, if this device included a dedicated (not Google Maps) GPS it would be a kick-ass way to navigate. I have no idea WHERE you could put such a big thing in the cabin, but wow...
