P. Diddy Buys His Son A Maybach -- How Do You Tell Your Dad You Really Wanted A Ghost?

P. Diddy Buys His Son A Maybach -- How Do You Tell Your Dad You Really Wanted A Ghost?
It must be nice to be the son of a music industry mogul.

Case in point: 16 year old Justin Dior Combs is the new owner of a brand-spanking-new Maybach care of his father, P.Diddy or Diddy or Puff Daddy or whatever the hell he calls himself these days.

But we thought Diddy was better than that. Largely considered a trendsetter in fashion and music, you would expect the guy who is usually ahead of the curve to pick something a bit more exclusive and more interesting.

An example would be the Rolls-Royce Ghost, which is the latest high-end motorcar to come out, not to mention much better looking from the Spies' perspective.

Do you think Diddy should have waited for the all-new Ghost to make an appearance before plunking down nearly $400 large?

Popeater reports:

"It's good being Diddy's son. Not only do you get one of the most lavish sixteenth birthday parties ever bestowed upon a teenage boy, you also get a car worth more than $350,000. See, everyone, the recession is over ... if your name is Diddy. Oh, and he also donated ten grand to Haiti.

The son of the rap mogul was greeted with a Maybach, one of the world's most expensive and luxurious cars which is being valued at $360,000..."

Maybach is for being driven in, not driving... Seems dumb to give a 16yr old a car like that anyway. Ghost is a much better choice for someone who wants an ultimate luxury car to drive.

a child needs a ferrari like he needs a hole in the head. only someone with a deathwise for surrounding traffic would suggest that a 16 year old drive a 500hp car.

But, the kid gave $10 grand his dad gave him to the Haiti earthquake fund.

He should have got a Camaro and waited until he was 45 years old to get a Maybach.

Why would a kid want a Maybach???

my assumption is that he will have a driver with it - he's only 16 and they live in NYC. not to mention that puff most likely has a stable of different cars to which the kid has unlimited access.

This is disappointing..How has the recession impacted african americans? I would say it has been worst on them..What message are you sending to your community Mr. "Diddy"? Arent you from improvished Harlem? Its sickening...And even when you want to spend such sums of money, why put it out all over the media? Now? In these times? Makes you look ignorant. You and your idiot of a son..

it's his money - he can do what he wants with it. what does the 'african american community' have to do with him? obviously, the recession hasn't hurt him, why should he deprive himself and his family of what he's earned because other people might feel bad? you sound like somebody who is broke and jealous.

Ya,too bad puff diddly-yos father was shot in the head when he was 3 leaving his mother to work 3 jobs to buy a house for them in Mt Vernon (15 min from where i am)He had it made. Mt Vernon is the richest place in NY.Theres beautiful spraypaint on the walls, broken down homes and lots of amazing crimes. They even gave it a cool nickname which is murderville.Even the nice neighborhoods and big houses in Mt Vernon are 2 min away from the ghetto. Its not somewhere you want to grow up.Some life he had.Take care of yourself before you judge others.

Wow,there is a lot of haters here. Because he found a way to make money he shouldnt spend it on what he wants? Believe it or not hes been in the game for a loooonggg time to get where he is. Rap was his starting point and from there he started a clothing line and other investments. Anyone who feels they need to give input on what he should be doing with his money or how he doesn't deserve it or how rap is garbage is probably someone who is bored with life, hates their job and hates when people do better than them.“To cure jealousy is to see it for what it is, a dissatisfaction with self”

actually your wrong he started out doing R&B (Mary J Blige/Jodeci)NOT rap he just happen to stumble along Biggie which made Badboy who they are today. lets see what he does for Biggie's son when he turns 16 since that was his man/homeboy/bread winner for badboy. alot of you dont know biggie was the front runner for badboy and he wasnt making what people may think he was making. but your right ....rxh8me9000...he can do whatever the hell he wants with his money. puffy would not be who he is today if it wasnt for Biggie. just like the jacksons wouldnt be who they are today if it wasnt for joe jackson and Michael....period

Wow. Jealousy has NOTHING to do with thinking this man is an idiot. Even if I had it like him, my son wouldnt get a six figure car as a first car. Hell, he would be lucky to drive one of mine. He would have to work for a vehicle. Thats why kids are ruined POS (sorry to all) these days. He "MIGHT" get a car like that after he graduated from Law school or Med school but thats it. This is ridiculous because I read; A) His son doesnt even have a license yet, and B) They live in New York. The chauffer that he provided for his son was only for that night. What a waste. If his son was raised right, being that he is blessed to come from a wealthy family, he would have gave the 350,000.00 Maybach back and gave that money to Haiti and kept the 10,000.00.

Please dont post disturbing news like this. Especially with the way our economy is right now. I know its not their fault but news like this makes people shake their heads...

I would say this might be a smart move on diddy's part as a parent..I would feel better about my 16 year old son driving (or being driven) in a Maybach than an R8, Ferrari, Lambo..etc. Now..I think a Maybach is over the top..but diddy should have gotten him an old MB TD or Volvo..something solid and safe...let the kid earn the right for a more expensive car.

What does Racism have to do with all this. Since you're bring up the race cards, I personally have many black friends. If it wasn't Puff it could have been Eminem. You get what I'm saying. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and mine happens to be that people in entertainment get more money then they deserve. That is the reason i brought up the comparison with a Doctor.

It's wonder that he gave his son a nice car. It definitely is quite expensive for most of us. These things, the Lambos, Maybachs, Leer Jets and so forth are just the trivial vices of the newly rich though. The truely rich are more interested in leaving a legacy than they are in showing off wealth. In all fairness, I suspect his son will be chauffered in this which is a much safer prospect than providing his son with the keys to a performace car at that age.

An added observation after going back and reading some prior comments. One of the greatest things about the US is that some of us are going to make a great deal of money. In the case of entertainers (including sports figures) they earn their money from revenues generated directly and indirectly from the general population. If we didn't support them or the people they endorse these people would not get paid. It's my personal view that it's a sad testiment to the values of our country when entertainers make more than teachers, but that's neither here nor there.

criticizing this parental stupidity has nothing to do with 'jealously' .. it's one thing if he buys the car for himself(he earned that money) .. but buying that kind of car for your 16 yr old who's done nothing to earn that is insanity .. well all I can say is .. if he's providing for his kid like this now, he better be prepared to continue doing so well into his kid's adulthood because that's what his kid will be demanding
