Be safe out there, Spies...

Consumer Reports...uhm er reports:

"What should you do if your car suffers a sudden and unintended acceleration such as the problem that has triggered Toyota's massive auto recall? Here's our advice from the Consumer Reports Auto Test
Center.

1. Brake firmly. Do not pump the brakes. Do not turn off the engine yet, because doing so would disable the power assist for your steering and brakes.

2. Shift the transmission into Neutral. Don't worry if the engine revs up alarmingly...

Well, I guess it's still important to inform the common people about the fundamentals of handling a car with a stupid problem.

People panic. If your doing 70 and your throttle gets stuck while theres a few turns coming up, you have to think fast and people who are not familiar with cars and just use them to get from point A to point B and have no idea how a motor or transmission work, will most likely crash and die or be hurt badly.Imagine a mother in a corolla with her kids in the back coming to a red light and the gas pedal gets stuck...you get the idea..

For the first time I agree with Badgewhore.

Problem as I see it, driving a car has become a necessity for nearly all Americans. It is no coincidence that the people who cannot safely mitigate this gas pedal issue drive these vehicles. They are known for getting you from point 'a' to 'b' with the least driver input possible.

My X GF who was dumber then a box of rocks had a hard time even putting her corolla into gear let alone taking it out...she was also scared of highways..people who drive toyota's are not car people! They don't know what to do and are clueless and useless delusional individuals. They should make getting a license harder and raise the driving age to 18 and make the driving test more comprehensive.

VW...this is what you have to look forward to being #1. And your reliability record is spotty to begin with. Good Luck!
