SOUND OFF: USA Today Questions If Recalled Toyotas Should Be Banned From US Roads!

SOUND OFF: USA Today Questions If Recalled Toyotas Should Be Banned From US Roads!
Hertz joined Avis and Enterprise tonight in temporarily stopping the renting of Toyota vehicles that are part of the automakers recall.

"We are taking action so there can be no question about the safety of our customers and the cars we rent," said Hertz CEO Mark Frissora. "We expect these actions will have minimal operational disruptions."

So let's review. You can't buy a Toyota that's covered by the recall at a Toyota dealership. You can't rent one from one of three of the largest car rental firms. But Toyota and the government say it's just fine for you to be driving your Toyota around as long as you watch out for warning signs that the gas pedal may jam open, leaving you with a runaway car. Is this logical?

I think we should just play it safe, and ban ALL Toyotas, until the Toyota company can prove that none of their vehicles will ever be involved in a fatality again.

They ground airplanes in service for issues like this.

I can see it now cops pulling drivers over for a ticket and having their cars towed for safety reasons.

I hope so! This is getting crazy. I am getting calls from family members asking if they should just park their Toyota until it can be fixed.

Isn't the sticky throttle only a problem on vehicles that get a lot of moisture, ie salt, water... so I would imaging a brand new car should be safe for a while? Toyota stocks are way down today, there is definatly something going down with toyota's perceived quality now, maybe they never payed someone off? I have known for a while that it has been getting bad.The money people are up to something.

We have definitely NOT hit bottom yet!

Still to come are the news media investigations, Toyota exec's being called before congressional committees to testify who knew what and when did they know it, Toyota insider leaks of confidential information about who knew what/when, and finally...(wait for it....) President Obama taking on the issue.

I've always wanted to know what Agent009 really looks like in person and there he is the little monkey with the red patch on his back. Hope you and your infamous naysayers are having a good time hoping and waiting for Toyota to come crashing down and hit rock bottom only to gain momentum once again and shoot straight back to the top!

Toyota should have taken care of the issue when the first incident was reported. This is what they get for being so ignorant and egotistical.

Most people do not know how to operate a vehicle properly.
