Toyota's Top Brass Has Admitted To "Big Company Disease," Are They The New GM/Chrysler?

Toyota's Top Brass Has Admitted To
**Thanks to 1UAW for the tip**

This is a question that will stick in curious minds for an eternity: did Toyota's rise to the top, expansion and conquering of General Motors essentially cause their problems that it is facing now?

And, these curious cats will not have to wonder that much longer because a little research will find that one of Toyota's top brass even admitted it has been suffering from "big company disease."

This makes me wonder, since they have suffered from BCD, can we now consider Toyota the new GM or Chrysler?

Too big to fail, you say?

What say you, Spies? Let us know in the comments below.

The Christian Science Monitor reports:

"In 2002, Fujio Cho, then president of Toyota, announced Global Vision 2010 – Toyota’s ambitious goal to capture 15 percent of the global auto market and become the No. 1 carmaker in the world by this year.

The company has achieved part of that goal. Although it hasn’t captured 15 percent of global market share, Toyota surpassed General Motors two years ago to become the world’s largest carmaker.

But, as Toyota’s recalls and sales suspensions spread across the globe, some consumers are asking, at what cost? Did Toyota’s drive for rapid expansion cost the carmaker its reputation for quality?..."

Toyota is miles ahead of the big 3 and they don't have to deal with the slobs that run the UAW.

UAW, GM has made great strides, however:

1. Their failure to make anything decent in the 90's and much of this decade was pathetic and embarrassing

2. Toyota's facing recall issues which has nothing to do with problems GM faced (healthcare, unions, sh*tty products nobody wants, etc.)

If Toyota succeeds at building crap product for 30 years, then receives a US Government bailout... well, yeah, then they could become the next GM / Chrysler.

well, well, well. Look what happens when you try to be so cost competetive that cheap quality fails sooner than expected. This is definitely a case of "you get what you paid for". you could pony up some more cash, but why would you? I mean, who would want to drive something safe if you could save $1000? The consumer demands everything for cheap right, but you get cheap quality. You cant have luxury quality at a cheap price. sorry folks...

GM cut costs on interior and exterior materials (body parts, dash boards, switchgear, etc.) and used the same junk from the parts bin for several models.

Not the same problem Toyota is facing.

I feel like I'm arguing with children.

not the same thing? If that was true then how is it that Toyota's most popular models all have the same pedals?

I predicted that this would happen the moment I heard the Toyota big wigs start yapping away about being the number 1 automaker in the world. When you are at the top, the only place to go is down. Volume, does not a success story make. The next automaker to have this happen to them will be Volkswagen. Mark this date and my words.
