Toyota Wants To Remain No. 1 In The U.S. Brands Race This Year, Can They Do It?
**Thanks to tryme for the tip**

Amidst the pending recalls for millions of Toyota's vehicles, one would think that the company would be focusing all of its attention on that issue. But, no. The firm remains adamant on continuing sales growth.

Nothing is stopping these guys and they have begun formulating plans and figuring out angles to draw consumers to them. According to 4wheelsnews, examples include: aggressive lease programs, more dealer and consumer cash, and more flexible credit terms for consumers.

4wheelsnews reports:

"For Toyota to remain on top of the U.S. brand sales race in 2010, its division and independent distributors are implementing aggressive lease programs, more dealer and consumer cash and more flexible credit terms for consumers.

If you’re into games, you’ll love that Toyota has brought back exotic trip contests for top-selling dealers and will hold a full-scale annual dealer meeting this fall. In 2009, the meeting attended by combined Toyota and Lexus dealers was limited to a half-day business session.

Toyota spokesman Mike Michels talked..."

I went to a Toyota dealer today and he said they are selling Japanese built Camry's that have no problems.

The new gas pedals are shipping now and Toyota will do great in 2010.

Who wants to risk buying a Toyota when you can't legally buy most of them anyway?

Legally? Really Joe, are the police hanging around charging people?

No, but if you were able to buy one you could charge the dealership for endangering your own, as well as public safety.

Toyota has two things going for it, one is the reputation that they have earned a long time ago and stopped in the early 90s,
And two most people are dumb, that includes half of us that blog here, especially the ones that love certain companies for no good reason? It's like there ego is being represented by some company, Why? when the companies screw up it does not represent you, that is unless you made the vehicle.
I go by what is good at the time, and now Toyota has been poor quality for the last 12 years or so? The fact that mud is being thrown at them now should make us think why? What about all the oil sludge problems on all there cars? I bet it effected almost as many cars, but hardly a word about it, not even in CR, There is a problem no doubt, but this is very political, the money people are up to something.

The problem is that on this site some people have such ridiculous beliefs and make really crazy statements but actually mean them. Hence I didn't know if that was sarcasm.

Honestly...I could care less...I don't plan on buying or ever buying a Toyota product. Sorry if I offend anyone...but as long as I live in America that's my right.

The only GM I would ever consider buying would have to be built in China.

Watch Michael Moors film Capitalism a Love Affair, then try and tell me that there is a difference, the only difference is that you have two very different view, but in the end the same thing always happens regardless who is in, it's the money people (Federal Reserve) telling them what to do,The Presidents are only puppets, JFK was not a puppet and look at what happened to him, he wanted to get rid of the privately owned Federal Reserve America is waking up to this sad reality, slowly.Time to take your country back from the bastards that have been robbing you for a long time.

I guess Toyota does Not learn from all this recall??? Toyota just bring your the qualitie and realibility of your cars back and you will be #1 for sure.

Until then, dream on. Sad and this coming from Hardcore Toyota and Lexus fan. Fix the problem with your cars before you lose me to to Infiniti or BMW.

Hey, just because I am a Lexus fan does Not mean I'm going to get a car that going to put me, friends or family in danger.

I guess it alll about the money now ha? Toyota remember it was the quality and reliability that got you were you are today until you SCREW UP.

In my opinion I think Hyundai keep improving the quality and realibility of their cars, they will become number #1 in American. And then probably falling in the same as the Big 3 and currently Toyota.

What goes up must come down, I guess. But I guess we just wait and see.

Consumer Reports has pulled their prized "Recommended" from all Toyota models. As a current subscriber I can tell you that since last week the site has been inundated by a fierce firestorm of subscribers urging CR to pull the "recommended" ratings from all eight of Toyota's models that are part of this horrendous recall of potential DEATH traps on wheel.

Well done CR about time!

the sales halt will only INCREASE pent-up demand.

THINKING people will recognize the problem stems from the american CTS bad pedal assemblies, and that the hoards of haters are using this as an excuse to pile on and blame toyota rather than CTS.

just as Tylenol bounced back from the big scare caused by a felonious tamperer with increased consumer sympathy and sales, toyota will also rebound healthier than ever.

toyota may or may not stay #1 this year. but they WILL be #1 again. just a matter of time.

mark my words, that WILL happen.

you guys --with wishful thinking-- grossly underestimate how much toyota owners love their cars.

AND, grossly overestimate the effect all this media hyped hullabaloo will have in the LONG TERM.
