AUTO SPIES EXCLUSIVE: Bad news for buyer's of the new 07 S-Class

One of the most exciting cars we've driven in the past few months is the new 2007 S-Class.

Better looking than the competition and chocked full of great technologies, the new 'S' is the de facto standard in luxury sedans.

Unfortunately, we have to deliver some bad news for those want one or have one on order.

The two coolest options for the car are night view assist and distronic cruise control 2.0.

The bad news is night view assist is now delayed until September builds of the car.

Obviously, there must be a supplier issue happening in the background here.

The salesperson said that Night View Assist was on the car I test drove a few days ago. It was daytime, and when you tried to turn it on the cluster said something like "this system can only be operated at night."

A different system?

the "premium 2", and "premium 3" cars have been delayed, night view is NOT delayed until september, you just cannot order the premium packages as a whole. individual options can still be ordered.

In December, I test drove one with night view assist. Unless there is a supplier issue, I cant imagine why it will be delayed until September. My guess is that someone is putting out spurious information to hinder sales.

The night vision option is available in Europe, as i just got back from a Mercedes dealer. There are no problems in delivering that option, they actually told that customers found it very useful.
