WTF!This is a overpriced NISSAN MAXIMA..... I would much rather go with a a Bavarian for this type of money.

Not only will the M outperform the 5 but it will offer more standard features than the 5, E, and A6 for less money... how is that overpriced? Lets be realistic: the last M sold huge numbers and the new one will sell even more simply because it's not overpriced like its German competitors.

That ramirez cannot even tell the difference between FWD and RWD, so what can you say? This site is full of sour grapes pissed that no current BMW M able to get within 8:00 @ Nords..... Who's overpriced now?

LIKE I SAID......Id rather get a 550i which is the same price (BASE MODEL 60k) and I dont know if you want to compare this to the current 5 or the new upcoming 5 but I dont think it will outperform the 5 IMO. so lets wait and see what this car can outperform when the new 5 drops to the public.

and if your argument is that you can get this M56 fully loaded for $60k then I could buy a fully loaded Hyundai Genesis 4.8 for $44k fully loaded and save myself 16k you lose 40 horses but so what its a better deal right. SO....GTR35....dont try to play that card with me because I dont go for it. its all about what you like and if I had 70-75 grand (which is what you would pay after taxes)sittin around you betta beleive im getting something german I dont know about the rest of you.

It will outperform the 5 that you havent driven, and no mag has had a complete full test or comparison test on??? Yeah sure, it couldnt beat the last on anything but price, and now that Infiniti has priced it inline with the 5 and e class it no longer has that as a defense. Im going to assume that this car has to be pretty amazing for them to price it directly against the most expensive cars in the class right now. For you say though this car will outperform the 5series based on no proof, data, or test is just rediculous if tests of the G vs 335i are an indicator the new 5series will still outperform in the numbers department despite the Infiniti's horsepower advantage.....

"Lets be realistic: the last M sold huge numbers and the new one will sell even more simply because it's not overpriced like its German competitors."

You may want to stop being a fanboy for a moment and check your facts before typing. The m was hardly a hit and never sold in "huge numbers". Its best year, its first FULL year, was still less than HALF what BMW and m-b moved of their midsize sedans. Hmmmm, and the m is much cheaper (for a reason) than both, but couldnt touch them in sales. Now, why could that be?

The M looks better than any 5 series of late. And there's no way a BMW 550 $60K, you can't even find one on the lot for less than $70K. Good luck with that.

I'm not bashing Infiniti, but some of the "added contents and features" are stuff that have been available in other cars for years...

So the M56 uses the 5.6 OHC V8 from the Titan? Interesting.

If anyone knows how to get a lot out of a few engines, it's Nissan.

The VQ is absurdly versatile.

I don't like the tortuous waist line and the overhall melted-soapbar shape. Looks Korean to me.

The panamera is awesome. In fact I liked it when I saw the first spy pics. Saw one, a dirty one, in the snow full of calcium the other day, and it still looked awesome. On the other hand, this Infiniti is closer to a Genesis than a Panamera.

BTW I hate chromed door handles. Chromed handles only work on a restaurant entrance door or on caskets.

LOL @ GTR35 stop smoking crack dude. When has an Infiniti anything beat a BMW anything in its same class? um oh thats right never! At best this car will be as good as the OUTGOING E60 5 series that was designed like 10 years ago *rolls eyes* which will be an achievment. But it will not best the F10 5 series thats for sure.. And all that "new" technology has been on the 5 series before for years except some of the audio stuff which will be in the F10 so nothing impressive there. And this new Infiniti M isn't exactly nicer looking then the old one. Looks like a 4 door Hyundai Tiburon actually.

Wow - you certainly have an opinion!

Check history, because when the last M came out in March 2005 it won multiple comparison tests.

But why should you care, nothing beats a BMW.

LACMANLACMAN - 2/5/2010 9:00:07 AM

@jonmartin: While some comparo tests favor the 3 series, I have read a few articles that marked the G37 as the winner.

(In response to your comment saying: "When has an Infiniti anything beat a BMW anything in its same class?")

You go that right especially not a lil Infiniti.. LOL gimme a break got alot of dreamers here. And I like ur example what one test back in 2005? thats it? I think I remember that test it was a 545i vs a M45 even tho the 550i was coming out. And the infiniti barely won.

as a guy who sells both BMW and Infiniti I think this is going to be another home run. it may never win over the BMW purist but the people who want a great performing reliable car will choose this all day long.. especially when you look at the dollar value of Infiniti. of course there are alot of arguments about what is value.. resale maintenance .... bang for the buck all Infinitis are great. They have their share of firsts as in rear camera's lane departure warning all around view camera inteligent cruise control most of this was on the 2002 Q45 that came out in april of 2001. also they made this stuff to actually last and operate trouble free.

Infinitis biggest problem is their marketing department.

If Lexus' marketing team worked for Infiniti they'd probably be far more popular.
