DragTimes.com tests the a new 2010 Audi R8 V10 against the Lamborghini Gallardo in a heads up drag race at Palm Beach International Raceway. While the Audi R8 V10 is rated at 525HP from the factory, the same day dyno tests with the Gallardo along with the results at the drag strip show that the Audi is most likely making more power than advertised.

Wait, they said they were going easy on the clutch for the gallardo by turning esp on. No wonder the Audi was getting better launches.

So a Gallardo vs. a rebadged Gallardo. Same engine in both cars. So the only difference is the driver.

How you figure? The Gallardo has more power with a higher top speed and less weight/size. The Gallardo is basically the track version of the R8. Its a lot more than just the driver.Although both cars are quite similar,they are not twins.

I'm keen to see the dyno on the R8 5.2 since you claim its horsepower is underrated. If it does push out 475 awhp it would trap far higher than 117 mph IMHO. It is four wheel drive after all so fudging the launch can't be used as an excuse as to why the 1/4 mile times aren't in the 11's.

And that's the problem - forget that the Lambo was a 2006 - the v10 R8 just like the V8 R8 doesn't have the performance to match its looks or its price.
