Is THIS Guy A Crybaby OR Did He Find A Shortcoming With The 2010 Audi A3 TDI's Navigation System?
Every car has its own quirks. But, for the most part, as an owner you just seem to live with them and deal as time goes on. However, for this Audiworld forum user, this is just unacceptable.

Apparently, the 2010 Audi A3 TDI's navigation unit does not display gas stations that actually sell diesel fuel. Instead it just shows a gas station. I can understand that type of frustration, especially if you are in a neck of the woods you are not familiar with, but even then most freeway stops have diesel fuel.

So, we have two questions: 1) Does anyone else with an 2010 A3 TDI w/ navigation have this problem? 2) Is this guy being irrational or does he have a valid point?

Audiworld forum user "Hueso," reports:

"I took delivery of my 2010 A3 TDI at the end of december after placing the order at the end of august. I order my aruba blue tdi, with titanium package, premium plus, cold weather and nav.

First of all I love the car, especially the titanium trim package. But I having a few issues with the nav-plus, the improved graphics and traffic info is great but it is extremly frustrating when in an area I am not familiar with and need to find a diesel station and the nav list gas stations not diesel stations..........Audi of America listen up.........It would certainly be nice to be able to look on the nav and find out where to refuel. I passed 9 gas stations that popped up on the nav along my route and a couple that did not.......none of which had diesel! I ran out of fuel as I finally located a station. I paid extra tolls getting on and off toll roads to stop at stations. That is the problem...."

deal with it i say, cars cant do everything for you, but it wouldnt be a bad idea for them to integrate this feature in the future for diesel owners

Most national fuel retailers (e.g. Exxon, Mobil, etc) have map based service station locators for the all stations in the U.S & Canada and you can check off the "Diesel" box to narrow the search to only show those stations which serve diesel fuel.
If I owned a diesel (and I expect one of my next vehicles to be one), I would make sure that I was familiar with diesel serving stations where I lived and along any routing I planned to take on trips.
Guy sounds like a bit of a suck to me..

I wonder if he know how to use it. I now in BMW nav system sub-menu you can set for diesel stations.

He should have test driven and played with the navigation before he bought. Not buy it under the assumption everything is labeled to his specification.
