Hybrid Porsche 911 will race at the Nurburgring 24 Hours
According to the latest reports, it appears that Porsche is going to introduce a hybrid 911 at the Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance race this year. The reports indicate that the upcoming car will be based on the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and is currentley being prepared to run as a petrol-electric hybrid, using an F1-style KERS system.

When asked about the car, Porsche refused to comment, but the official announcement is expected later whis week. “It is not a question of yes or no, but a question of how and when,” said Porsche motorsport boss Hartmut Kristen when asked about the hybrid Porsche.

i'm excited about this cars reliability. gumpert tried the same 1 or 2 years ago but failed. whatever the result is going to be like: they can't do worse than the lf-a with a usual internal combustion engine

Panoz did this over a decade ago, I'd still prefer the old Panoz Esperante GTR-1 Q9 over a new 911 hybrid.
