Who Won The SUPERBOWL Of Car Advertisements? Who Stopped The Show And Who Flopped?

Who Won The SUPERBOWL Of Car Advertisements? Who Stopped The Show And Who Flopped?
Well, now that all the hubbub over the game has settled, let's take a look at the other action from Sunday night's Superbowl XLIV. The commercials.

With all of the advertisers knowing that this is the largest captive audience, usually some of the best and most creative advertising is saved for a slot during the Superbowl, but, it seems that this year's work was a bit bland.

After watching the night's coverage, it was clear that Hyundai had the most activity. And, considering their 2009 auto sales, they should have! Their brother, Kia, also managed to get some good air time as well.

Honda did some sort of interesting squirrel bit but that did not seem to detract from the most atrocious-looking vehicle on the planet, the Honda Accord Crosstour.

Audi put together some sort of homage to Paul Blart: Mall Cop, and to say it was disappointing would be a gift. After seeing what those marketing genius' are capable of this fell far short of expectations. Last year it was the Audi A6 3.0T with Jason Statham, then the year prior was the Godfather tribute and the R8. I guess you cannot ring the bell every year.

What was a nice, fresh automotive campaign was Chrysler's Dodge Charger bit. For such a dated vehicle, they surely know how to spruce up the marketing on it.

Take a peek below at some of last night's advertisements and let us know who YOU thought came with their "A" game.

Personally, I think the Hyundai cars looked the best. Commercial itself was stupid, but the cars looked nice, especially the red Sonata. The best commercial I thought was the Audi 'green' commercial.

Sadly, a ZDX commercial would have been better than the Crosstour. What is Honda's strategy right now??

About 12 years ago while driving a buddy punched my arm very hard. I looked at him and he said "Punch Buggy". I told him to never do that stupid crap again.

Funniest/best commercial? Probably the Audi.

Were there any Lexus commercials? Sounds like Hyundai snatched up the guy who used to do the Lexus commercials.

I believe you're referring to Jeff Bridges, otherwise known as The Dude, Duder or El Duderino...

I liked the Charger ad but there were rumors that the ad would show the next Gen body style and that didn't happen. On that note: I was dissapointed. They should have had the Challenger or both. IMHO

I liked how in the kia one, the enviro-freaks looked like a bunch of complete fools...It was a good example of totalitarianism.
