OK Now, What Exactly IS A Green Car?
So what exactly IS a "green car"?
At both the Los Angeles Auto Show and Detroit Auto Show, you could find the word "green" all over the place. LA has been pitching itself for years as the greenest auto show, with fewer muscle cars and more hybrids, clean diesels, and so forth than any other U.S. show.
Judging from the signs, it appears that carmakers believe the new definition of "green" is a model that gets 30 miles per gallon or more on the EPA highway test cycle. We were curious how many cars exceeded that level.

A green car is one that doesn't use rare earth metals. And is entirely recyclable.
A car that emits water vapor and carbon dioxide is as green as any other living being on earth.

Deboost me all you want but the fact that I will get good mileage and not sacrificing the performance or creating a lot of greenhouse gasses I am pretty pleased with my purchase. I believe my pdk version is 18% less emissions than the previous generation and that itself had less toxic air coming out of it's exhaust pipes than the air you breath in Los Angeles.

Until we're driving plants, there is no green car--not even a bicycle. At best, only "greener" and damned if it isn't hard to tell because we don't exactly have a comprehensive way of comparing a car's impact on the environment.

It should be based on carbon emissions per distance and production emissions as a result of building the vehicle, i.e the Prius is NOT a very green car! Then get a base result to compare to.
