SPIED: Is MINI Prepping A HOT Diesel Version Of The Clubman S?
Autocar reports:

"The entire Mini range will be facelifted in August, and these spy pictures give the first look at how the Mini Clubman S will look.

The styling changes are designed to give the car a sportier look, and take some of the design cues set by the upcoming Countryman S model.

Reports suggest a hot diesel version of the car will also go on sale later this year.

Mini’s engineers have successfully managed to fit the BMW four-cylinder engine, designed for a longitudinal application, into the Mini’s engine bay in a transverse installation. The work involved in fitting the BMW engine to the Mini was described by our source as "tricky"..."

Some of you may not agree but I have always found the Clubman version of the Mini pointless. If I was in the market for a Mini it would always be the small and regular version.

except for the fact that the clubman sells, if you see them on the road there is a point...people bought it.

I am not a fan of small cars, this is ok, for something this small it better be good on fuel, I can see some people loving it, although for me it is almost useless, expensive and small and rot known for there reliability.

as far as small cars go, it is one of the safest ones you can get.

Here is the safety rating, not bad but not the best, of course this is a different car, but similar, so this may not be applicable at all, but here is the Mini S crash rating.
