Rumor Mill: Has Toyota Changed Directions On The FT86 Already?

Rumor Mill: Has Toyota Changed Directions On The FT86 Already?
Publication Holiday Autos is reporting that the original FT-86 design we have seen at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show and the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon (based on designed by Toyota’s

Europe Design Development ED²) has been passed up by Toyota in favor of the alternative design by Toyota’s North American design studio (Calty Design Research). Calty’s FT-86 version (which we’ve yet to see in person except for the sketch below from 7tune) has been picked over the ED² design and another design by Toyota’s Japanese design team (Toyota Technical Center).

Looks to me like they are recalling their concept and going with the non japanese designed one, probably so the pedals don't get stuck ;)

Damn, I know you hate Toyota and everything, but your talents at comedy writing fall very far behind your ability to make yourself look like a biased ass.

Anyway, the picture is just a photoshop of the original. Whatever real "version" Toyota uses it will be hard for anyone to tell the difference betweeen the design studios (if there is any).

Eh, I'm just kind of bummed that the Corolla steering issues wasn't posted, probably because 009 is feeling sorry for them.

F'k him, Joe. You keep up the toyota bashing. I, for one, am not and will never tire of it!

I'm glad they did, cause its a damn Scion. So they better just bring the Supra back and stop with these small sport cars.

Toyota can consider hiring Bangle. It seems they really dig him.
Sad......

Why hire him, when they've been copying his designs, but making them look boring, for free for years now?
