Honda recalling 438,000 more cars worldwide for airbag risk
Due to certain airbag complaints, Honda Motor Co. is recalling 438,000 more cars worldwide to replace an airbag deflator that could rupture and send shards toward the driver in an accident.

Honda cars sold in Europe don’t have this type of airbag and hence are not included in the recall. Less than two weeks ago, Honda recalled 646,000 cars for a defective window switch that resulted to a Jazz subcompact going up in flames in South Africa, killing a child. To resolve that issue, Honda is recalling 172,000 cars in the UK. This actually isn’t the first time that Honda had issued recalls due to the airbag problem.

I don't understand why the vehicle posted is not part of the recall. Way to induce mass hysteria.

OMG. The "superior" Japanese Quality is going down the drain big times. I just hope they are faster with their service solution than Toylex.

I actually feel really sorry for the poor people, which have to experience these kinds of problems first, and than being the reason for a manufacturer to realize that there is a problem.

Honda just looked at what Toyota was doing across the street and copied the same non-sense. These guys cheapened up every car they make with thinner plastics and metal. Now they are getting burned by it. There are so many factory floor defects on my MDX it is ridiculous.

Time for these good companies to get back to basics and be great again. That means every product that is bigger than Camry/Accord should be canceled so they can focus on excellent small to medium cars.

exactly.

toyota and honda have been at THE TOP OF THE HEAP of ALL brands, including supposedly "quality brands" from europe.

and, THEY STILL ARE, when you count the actual NUMBER of problem cars. the massive numbers involved in the recalls, only points out how the japanese are relentless in fixing EVERY car with even a POTENTIAL for problems.

i've said several times now, these "problems" tend to emerge mostly just in the hands of poor to incompetent DRIVERS.

well, all the brickbats thrown at honda and toyota may well BACKFIRE.

after complaints from just a handful of DUMB drivers, toyota is now recalling the 2010 prius.

this will just BOOST THEIR IMAGE as being conscientious and even OVER-solicitous of owners' safety concerns.

GOOD drivers who brake BEFORE hitting rough surfaces would never have the problem complained about. the people who complained are like those idiots who whip into curves, but don't touch their brakes until AFTER they realize they got in too hot. and then expect that the brakes will IMMEDIATELY fix THEIR mistake.

braking ONLY after feeling the jolts of potholes and/or rough surfaces is exactly the same.
