GM will develop the next-generation Suburban and Escalade full-sized SUVs
In three years, we will be seeing General Motors Co.’s next-generation Chevrolet Suburban and Cadillac Escalade, as well as other full-sized SUVs, on the road. This is surprising news considering that just last summer, the future of those vehicles was in doubt.

The SUVs are known to be GM’s big moneymakers, that is, when gasoline prices were low. GM halted the development of these cars when it had to deal with Chapter 11 bankruptcy issues, the recession and unstable gasoline prices. Rather than use the Lambda large crossover platform, the models will continue to be on GM’s rear-wheel-drive, full-sized truck platform.

Great! Funny thing is, gas will jump back to $4 a gallon the day they unveil it. Uh oh.

sounds about right. I'm sure they've been selling better lately with relatively cheap gas, and all the snow we're having on the east coast. I'm thinking about one for myself, to diminish my mobile inconveniences next winter.

Thank God,
because it would have been idiotic thing to based the King of SUVs (Escalade) on the Lambda platform.....
