Rumor: Honda CR-Z Type R in the works
According to the latest reports, it appears that the latest Honda CR-Z Sports Hybrid Coupe is being readied for Type R treatment. The new car will offers a new aerodynamic kit which will create a clear difference comparing it to the standard version.

If the CR-Z, which was recently unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show, carries an 102 hp 1.5-liter engine as well as a 20 hp electric motor, expect the Type R version to bring 150 hp from the petrol engine and an extra 50 from the electric motor.

Honda really has nothing out right now to WOW anyone.Boring.Would have been better off making this a new CRX.Throw the Civic SI motor in it,watch every boy racer pick them up off the lots and call it a day.

Let's see Honda gets rid of the Prelude, and the original NSX, S2000, and cancels the new NSX, and now the give us this joke called the CR-Z.

Yeah this company rocks.

Personally, I like the looks of this car. With that said, it will be tough to beat the new Ford Focus though.

V-10 NSX

So now TOYOTA is turning sporty while HONDA turning green? World changes...... WHERE'S the S3000? They don't even need a new platform, just add 2 more cylinders, add a roof, and it will sell!

Nah,that would just mess up the current platform sorta like the V6 did to the TSX. It made it very nose heavy.A V6 and a fixed roof would change the whole concept of the car which is not a great thing for a car that has a certain image to retain.I say keep it a high revving four banger.Raise the displacement, add some changes to the intake, exhaust, ecu and for the love of god lets get some torque down there.Add a retractable hardtop while losing weight somewhere else to make up for the weight gained from the top.Exterior, interior makeover and BAM the new recipe for the next gen s2000.

1UAW: S2000 has been considered the most hardcore of its segment, do you mean it needs the sour like a Pontiac Solstice?

rxh8me9000: Adding another 2 cylinder(I6) doesn't necessarily change much balance as you might think(for example. M35(V6) is 53/47, and M45(V8) is 54/46), because a platform can usually be adjusted to some extent. Your other suggestions are all good.
