2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid coming to the New York Auto Show
A hybrid version of Hyundai’s 2011 Sonatas is being prepped for a New York Auto Show debut in April. The Sonata is known to offer a potent package of features and style for a bargain price. With a $19,195 price tag, the standard model is powered by Hyundai’s new 2.4-liter direct-injection four-cylinder.

The Limited version is priced $25,295, leaving room for the hybrid to slot in at sub-Camry Hybrid levels. The Camry is priced from $26,150. Sonata Hybrid’s sales are expected to increase as soon as word gets to potential buyers that this car has bolder styling there’s much less concern over potentially dangerous recall issues.

Where else have you seen a mid-sized, affordable (<$25 Grand), family sedan with this kind of styling? The last three Accords were boxes. The last two Camry's were also boxes. Same for the Passat, Altima, and Fusion. Volkswagen and Mercedes did the coupe-style sedan already - both with designs relegated to much more expensive categories. And, while the Lexus ES is probably the nearest visual doppelganger for the Sonata, it's still priced way above this Hyundai.

The average consumer couldn't own a family sedan with this kind of styling before this Sonata. All the other family sedans in this category are now, and have been for several years, three-box designs.

So yes, this car has bolder styling.
