the problem is still the need to look away from the windshield. It will be nice when this can be projected on the screen (though it could mean variable tinting to temporarily turn the transparent windshield into a "screen" and sure would make them quite expensive). As for heat vision, it's an alternative but how will it handle objects with low heat signatures? Say, a rock or metallic object on a cold night? It would appear dark like the rest of the road; night vision may still be better.

this is NO image of the night guidance. it's the split front camera, this has nothing to do and looks totaly different from the infrared nightvision system (the image shown here shows 2 images, both with a 90 degree angle left and right from the front licenceplate)
