GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: STUD or DUD? Embargo Broken Early On Mercedes 'Baby CLS' F800 Style Concept
Here is an advanced look at a concept car that will make its worldwide debut at the Geneva Auto Show.
The Mercedes-Benz F800 Style showcases the future of premium automobiles by combining highly-efficient drive technologies with unparalleled safety and convenience features.

One highlight is the all-new "multi-drive" platform, which accommodates an electric drivetrain with fuel cells (enabling ranges of almost 375 miles) or a Plug-inHybrid powertrain that can drive for up to 18 miles solely on electricity.  Other innovations include a new COMAND system interface with a camera-based touchpad (rather than a Control knob), PRE-SAFE 360 which reacts to rear collisions, and DISTRONIC with Traffic Jam Assistant.

The embargo was broken early by CarScoop.

I like everything about it except the way the rear door opens.

Diminishes it.

wow... so much flame surfacing to make chris bangle proud!

and that rear quarter view keeps reminding me of the CS concept, minus the obvious hofmeister kink of course.

Definitely does have a BMWness about it- of course the production CLS will be toned down from this concept.....

I wonder if the next C-Class will have a lot of these design cues. Overall it is a nice design, about time MB got a little more daring and aggressive in their designs.

I love the interior centre stack. Just so simple but could easily become a reality

My thoughts exactly. Looks like a modern Hyundai.
But there's a good reason for it:

You know, the more I look at it I'm beginning to wonder whether this is a new "baby" CLS class that Merc is working on. It doesn't quite look long enough in the images (especially in pic #3 and #5)to be the next gen CLS....

Front has Toyota FT-HS on it..

This car looks like it's trying too hard

Sure, the design team at Mercedes obviously copied Toyota, the world-renowned leader in automobile design...

flame surfacing on steriods. the timless grace and impression that their cars were carved out of a single ingot of unobtainum that were once hallmarks of MB design is a distant memory. now MB can be confused with hyundai

When Toyota was releasing the Supra, mercedes and Audi were playing around with block designs

If the 1 series Bimmer and a CLS had a love child...this would be it. Too many lines...has potential but needs improvement

I expect this car to heavily influence the look of the next S- Class that is due in 2013. Definitely a STUD!

The creases above the wheels remind me of an old Hyundai Tiburon.

Amazing and definitely I love it.....But also, honestly the rear reminds me the new Sonata....But.. every budy knows what happens with BMW and Mercedes when they create good designs....: Nothing. CS is a good example of that...the good part is that Japanese and Koreans and may be Chinese, will bring us those designs, sadly in bad quality copies.

It just doesn't look like a Mercedes to me
