Cadillac announces the availability of Recaro seats on 2010 CTS sport sedans
Buyers of the 2010 regular Cadillac CTS Sedan may opt for Recaro seats, which are what’s fitted on the high-performance CTS-V.

These seats come with 14-way power adjustable settings and include adjustable back and thigh support for the driver and front-seat passenger, including a seat cushion extender, among the 14 total adjustable elements. We can’t help but gush over the seats, which are finished with French-stitched leather and have microfiber suede inserts in the center sections of the cushions and seatbacks. The seats also have heating and cooling functions. If this option sounds good to you, be prepared to add $2,800 to the price tag.

looks good, but i don't see why anyone would need these seats without the supercharged V8... a better $2,800 option would be a Northstar or Small Block V8 to bridge the gap between the just adequate CTS 3.6, and the extreme overkill of the CTS-V.
(Ok, the 3.6 is actually more powerful than the northstar, but the V8 just sounds sooooooo much better.)

I still dont understand why we cant get the 4.4L Northstar used in the STS-V and XLR-V minus the supercharger since the 4.6L is considered outdated.

Because the 4.4 is simply the same 4.6 but with thicker spacking between the cylinders. There isn't any other difference in the bore. Take off the supercharger and you have a smaller Northstar, nothing else.

Now a LS3 would be a good bridge between the 3.6 DI and the 6.2 SC LSA. If they could tune it for a more luxury feel it would likely do quite well.

... they could lift the drivetrain straight out of the G8 GT, and I'd be happy.

Pushrod, that would be a simple operation. I do wonder if there would be criticism from 'tech lovers' about it being OHV and that is why I was hoping for some refinement.

I don't think so... if pushrods are good enough for the most expensive Bentleys (Arnage, Brooklands, Mulsanne), then they are good enough for everybody.

I've driven enough small-blocks to safely say that nobody will care from behind the wheel. When those pipes start rumbling in deep bass, and that wave of torque explodes and pins you to the seat, any problem they have with pushrods will be strictly mental.
