FBI Agents Raid Detroit Offices Of 3 Auto Parts Suppliers
The FBI raided the Detroit-area offices of three key Toyota Motor Corp. suppliers Tuesday night, officials said Wednesday.
Federal agents executed search warrants at the U.S. headquarters of Yazaki North America in Canton Township, Denso Corp. in Southfield and Tokai Rika Co. in Plymouth Township, said Special Agent Sandra Berchtold.
Toyota owns large stakes in Denso and Tokai Rika, and all three companies are major suppliers to the Japanese manufacturer, as well as to Detroit automakers.
The U.S. Justice Department said the raids were related to an international investigation into possible anti-competitive practices by electronic components suppliers.

lol, so it looks like the govt is prone to conspiracy theories as well. If they find anything, Toyota is done for.

I think the conspiracy would be by the detroit 3 and not the Toyota. Why would toyota compromise it's own electronic parts.

The US Government has a conflict of interest in evaluating Toyota actions since it own over 30% of GM and over 10% of Chrysler Corporation. Ford had a much larger recall years ago without so much media or US Government frenzy.

@uaw_lax:
If that was the case we would have universal health care a long time ago.

Sounds like a witch hunt over Toyota. The Justice Dept. needs to be investigated on the timing of these raids.
The pedal under recall is not made by Denso, it is an American supplier CTS.
Also, the floor mats were melted over the pedal in the ES crash. The congressman in the article sounds like an idiot.

I read about another conspiracy somewhere that Denso purposely designed a pedal with a problem for CTS to make... but that's just another possibility, not probability.
Anyways, this raid is kinda scary but COOL at the same time! It's been awhile since cars have been on the news - the Cash for Clunkers made a lot of my female friends aware of cars again, and it felt great to talk about cars with friends who were interested.

g2ok if you watched the hearings you would have seen one of the law makers hold up two pedals one from cts and one from denso the Toyota N. American president could not tell them apart for startres also they had confirmed all the deaths where from denso supplied pedals ant not CTS.

Toyota, has learned a tough lesson about pop culture. Build you up, you become #1, then when one sign of weakness is detected, you are carrion for the buzzards.
