2012 Lexus LFA Pricing Announced

2012 Lexus LFA Pricing Announced
Lexus today announced the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $375,000 for the all-new 2012 LFA supercar. The MSRP does not include a delivery, processing and handling fee.

LFA, the flagship for the F portfolio of Lexus performance models is the fastest Lexus production car ever built and delivers world-class design, performance, and cutting-edge technology. The LFA is only available as a two-year lease with the intent to purchase. Only 500 LFA will be built worldwide.

“The LFA has more passion and character than any Lexus built and we’re excited that we’re finally able to give U.S. customers official pricing,” said Mark Templin, Lexus group vice president and general manager.

All LFAs will be hand-built to customer specifications and production will begin December 2010. Customers will be able to choose from three-configurations included in the base MSRP:

Customers will be able to customize the LFA with 30 exterior colors, six brake caliper colors, and 12 interior colors. Some choices carry an additional cost.

Amazing vehicle. Not many cars these days emphasize dynamics over raw power. This seems to be Toyota's beacon in the dark. Only 2 downsides in my opinion, the price and the unpleasant front end. Oh well you can't get everything you want:)Gratz Toyota/Lexus

Actually a bit less expensive than I thought it would be overall.

$375k is less than you were expecting? A Ferrari 458 Italia is $225k, offers the same or better performance, and doesn't look like a 1994 Supra. Plus, it's a Ferrari. For the price of the LF-A you could get the Ferrari and toss in a Bentley or Aston Martin as your cruising car. $375k for the LF-A is ridiculous.

This car is not meant to be positioned against the Ferrari, if you dont understand that by now, you're a retard.

buddy, I'm not going to stoop to name calling, but if you don't think someone looking at exotic sports cars costing hundreds of thousands of dollars would not be thinking Ferrari before thinking Lexus, then I don't think I'm the one who is mentally challenged here. The ONLY saving grace for the Lexus is that someone with enough money for an LF-A is likely an enthusiast collector that ALSO has enough money to get the Ferrari and an entire fleet of whatever other cars they want in addition to the LF-A. In that regard, fine, money is no object, enjoy your fleet of exotics. But if you're choosing one over the other, the Lexus loses. And even "a retard" would understand that.

The Ferrari 458 Italia has been said to hit 60 in 3.4 consistently. It's not like the GT-R which has clocked all over the board between 3.2-3.8 with most at 3.7 seconds average. The LF-A will likely be slower than the GT-R despite that awesome sound it creates. The LF-A has a sound that appeals to me I won't lie.

Not to sure what the point of this car. For less money you can buy a car which is more luxurious and has better dynamics and power!

3 things that the LFA is missing and it will make it fail against its competitors.

1. Of course, WAY over priced.
2. power should've been at least 600hp and torque at least 450lbs.
3. Front end is very very dull, the concept had the perfect front end look but they screwed it up.

One of Lexus's biggest mistakes was the front end, design wise.

yeah geniuses. you can post ALL YOU WANT about why you so perceptively THINK this car will fail.

the simple fact that there WILL be far more orders than 500, and lexus will get to pick and choose WHO gets to have one, makes your mumblings moot.

That my friend does not look like a $375,000 car. What a joke. Car looks dated already.

Way over priced and there are much better cars out there for less money.

Manufacturers can command such prices if the production numbers are extremely low. Most relevant and recent example is of Alfa Romeo 8C competitizione coupe and spyder, both were also limited to 500 units. The car was sold out in less than a month. I am sure Toyota will have no problem finding 500 buyers, they may not be only enthusiasts but some are collectors who collect such cars and later when no more units are left ask 2-3 times the money.
Other examples i can think of are SL65 Black series, SLR stirling Moss Edition, F430 Scuderia, Reventon...etc.

But i hope later Toyota makes a more affordable Supercar in the category of R8 and SL63. Next SC maybe.

That's right Toyoda, take the biggest PR shit in automotive history (even ahead of the combustible Audi's of the late 80's) then set the price on a 3yr Old Supra with nice leather at the cost of a nice house in the midwestern US.

POS!!

JRobUSC...you are dead wrong bud, if you think for one second the rich are'nt thinking about the LFA being inferior to the likes of Ferrari, Merc, BMW, Aston Martin then you'll also be another retard in the line-up because you will soon find out that the LFA will sell out to not only the rich but the rich & famous. I'll be watching for your name when the photos start coming in from those happy folks driving around Beverly Hills in their new Formula 1 sounding Lexus halo supercar.

"you are dead wrong bud, if you think for one second the rich are'nt thinking about the LFA being inferior to the likes of Ferrari, Merc, BMW, Aston Martin then you'll also be another retard in the line-up "

reread what you wrote, genius. You believe the rich AREN'T thinking it's inferior, am I correct? Then I think you meant "if you think for one second the rich ARE thinking about the LFA being inferior... then you'll also be another retard in the line-up". Because the way you wrote it means the opposite of that. You basically just agreed with me while calling me a retard. If you're going to call people names while arguing (and irony of ironies, make fun of their intelligence, no less) at least try not to write your side of the argument in a way that actually means the exact opposite of what you're trying to say.

there are plenty of rich people in Japan who will buy this car simply because its a Japanese supercar.

for the rest, there is the ferrari 458 italia and about 150k left over..

this is the car for the 'reverse badge whore'...

good luck selling them. and don't even start with the "sold out" crap people. the cars don't exist and nobody has paid for one yet.

oh...and now it's ANOTHER year delay. it's gone from 2011 to 2012. pathetic.

LOL! so much hate and rancor, from people who i wager HAVE NOWHERE the money to afford this car! or even, most of the competing supercars they say are "so much better bargains!"

i was surprised that people making positive or EVEN NEUTRAL remarks at the beginning got heavily de-boosted. (as no doubt i will too.)

WHY do you guys feel SO THREATENED by a car you apparently feel so little regard for?

are you afraid it will steal away sales AND PRESTIGE from your own favorite brands? which you STILL can only afford in your dreams?

The LFA will be in demand because of its rarity. Trying to claim that there are better cars out there for the money does not fly when discussing collectable supercars.
Chances are the reliability of the eloctronics alone make the LFA a better purchase than many of the other cars in its class.
