The Hummer That Could Have Been, Are You Sad To See It Go OR Was The End Long Overdue?

The Hummer That Could Have Been, Are You Sad To See It Go OR Was The End Long Overdue?
CNNMoney reports:

This is the Hummer that could have been. The Hummer HX concept, unveiled at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, was a Jeep Wrangler-sized off-roader.

As part of the deal to sell Hummer to China's Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Company, the new owners agreed to carry through Hummer's future product plan, which would have included a version of the HX. Unfortunately that deal fell through and the HX will never be made.

Click through to find out more about where Hummer came from and where it could have gone.

Good riddance! We really don't need another one of these dumb over-sized off roaders on the road.

I'm with Obie. Good riddance to this impractical gas guzzling road hogging piece of trash.

So the fact that this truck gets about the same gas milage as sports car and can carry about twice as many people and can be driven all year around like a sports car makes it impractical?

(always thinking)

NOT with that stupid "fastback roof." it is EVEN MORE impractical than wranglers.

I don't know - my c6 get between 26 and 28 on the Interstates. Didn't know Hummers did that. They belong in the military and frankly I won't miss them either.

C6 is another great GM product that is a star among sports car with probaly the best gas milage of all sports cars but we all know that many othrer sports cars get about 14 to 16 the same as most Hummers but sports cars can not be driven all year around like Hummers.

(Always thinking)

Hummer's top of the line model should have went against the Range Rover and its entry level model should have went head to head with the Wrangler. Anything in between, whatever, i dont know but that was the "New" Hummer brand in my dreams. Oh well, although Im sad to see them go, I wont miss them like I will Pontiac. Im glad they didnt go overseas. At least they died with dignity...
