AUTO SPIES EXCLUSIVE: Mazda Miata to get retractable convertible roof?

Dear 001,

Got a little tidbit for you. One of the Mazda Canada guys at the Toronto Auto show told me they are coming out with a retractable hard top, to be announced about June this year with deliveries starting probably in August. Estimated cost is $1500. Canadian (probably about $1000. U.S.) It will be in keeping with Mazda's philosophy of lightness so expected weight gain is minimal.

Regards,
Walt

Is is just me, or would the thought of a retractable roof in the Miata leave almost no space for but a purse in the trunk? I have been around a couple MB SL500s and I think there's a not enough space with 'its' retractable roof.

I understand the convenience, but even with the supposed minimal weight gain, storage space is still important. Maybe they will make it a three piece like the Volvo (is it Volvo?)

Okay, I see your point in that if your in the market for a convertible you won't nessessarily be looking for how big the trunk is.

Whinning....are you serious? Are you that dense? And what in the hell does your assumption of my marketing skills have anything to do with this.

Excuse me for not having your financial status or those of rich, "affluent" men, for having a little play thing.

You are bitter.

Lord! Can no one post a simple opinion without some asshat bringing them down and trying to be more knowledgeable.
