GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: The SPIES Bring You A Closer Look At The *Cough* CLS *Cough* F800 Style Concept
The Geneva Motor Show would not be complete without Mercedes-Benz bringing something to impress the crowds and the all-new *cough* CLS *cough* F800 Style came to do the trick.

Looking strangely familiar to Mercedes' Detroit Auto Show sculpture, the CLS boasts a bold front grill that looks eerily similar to the SLS AMG "Gullwing." Along the side, we notice a different type of rear door that opens up in a peculiar, mini-van fashion.

Was this a clever design feature or does it bring up too many thoughts of soccer moms?

Moving to the interior, we see that the F800 is a dream from the year 2050. Wood is placed throughout the cabin and makes up the seats, while there are plenty of nice metal switchgear inside the cabin. For instance, check out that chunky seat adjustment knob on the driver's seat.

Lastly, I want to know if I am the only one seeing a bit too much Audi A4 in the C-pillar? The relationship between the C-pillar and the hard line that begins in the middle of the door seems to channel this...

This is one ugly car.

It's very bold and not very pretty, but the car has some appeal that tells me that the luxury cars really have to differ themselves. Don't get me wrong; the side profile is a bit sedate.

Grotesque.

I love it. However I recognize that most of the new designs looks very similar cause the CS also looks very aerodynamic.

Nice front end. Everything else is....terrible. "Suicide" door would have been much nicer. Could you imagine taking a U-Turn with that steering wheel?

I think it looks great, exterior or interior. I hope as much of it gets to the production car, and quickly.

As Iacocoa once said, 'piece a' crap'.
Front- grill too disproportionate for chassis
headlights look like some kinda' alien
Side- counted at least five different cuts or creases. What's with that?
I thought Bangle was out.
Rear- huge portals bilaterally? Exhausts that big?
Pfiffer can do better than this. Com'on guys.

The headlights are the best part on that exterior, imo. The grille is a bit big, and the back exhaust or whatever the heck they were are distracting.

"*Cough* CLS *Cough*" - What's with all the 'coughing'?

You certainly don't believe that Mercedes is planning on downsizing the CSL to these C-Class levels?

The next CLS will likely share several 'styling elements' with this concept, but little more.

Yuck front end, especially the headlights. The rear end is really nice looking - just replace the red "bar" with a chrome one.

I am sorry but this car/concept, no matter how nice it looks, resembles the BMW CS concept. it practically replicates it without being embarrassed about it. It is a little more successful since its more compact in size, the front end is a little too messy. I like it though, but a BMW logo looks more at home on this thing than the 3 pointed star. IMO

If you'd read previous press releases you'd be aware that this car was styled by a former BMW designer.

I really love this concept car , it also has influence of the E60 BMW headlight wich I love it. I don't like the system of the rear door.

Of course the production car will never be this flamboyant BUT! That front end is hot The rear is good loking as well and I love the integration of the MB emlem into the sheetmetal of the trunk.

You haters out there. I am sure your head would turn if this was a production car evertime it went by. People would stop what they were doing an stare. (and not because its ugly but because its different and speaks advancement in technology and design)

8 people love it.
5 people hate it.
4 people like some parts of it, while not liking another parts.

Hey ...most of us likes this car but wake up....It will have the same destiny as the CS and Koreans, Japaneses or Chineses will build a low quality car that will look like those.

MB messes up another one... Let's recap MB current design language: square, but round but flowing but angular but... Make up your mind!
