2011 Toyota Avalon priced at $33,045
Toyota’s reworked full-size Avalon sedan for 2011 costs exactly the same as its base 2009 model. You might think that your eyes are playing tricks on you or that the dealership somehow made a mistake but the new 2011 Avalon is really priced from $33,045 (including $800 in destination fees).

There will be two trim levels to be offered: base and limited. On the base model, the standard equipment includes: a nine-speaker audio system, Bluetooth with audio streaming, USB and 1/8-inch auxiliary connectivity, eight-way power driver seat, backup camera, dual zone climate control, and moonroof.

yes, it is quite ugly. Buick Lacrosse should be able to steal some of this car's crowd.

Seems like a great value for the older crowd who want it all at a reasonable price.

great value is a v6 powered fwd sedan starting at $33,000? Hell, even the sebring is more attractive than this.

It is a good value, depending on what you're looking for. I landed a couple of Avalons at the rental counter last year, and it's hard to beat for the space and comfort of its interior and the smoothness of its highway ride. The backseat is very spacious and it reclines (usefully.)
The Avalon offers most of the same driving and riding experience you would get from a much more expensive Lexus LS, for about $33k, and with fwd, it's an even better choice for winter driving in the northeast. from that perspective, it is a value. and I'm not a toyota guy, at all, but true is true.

If you like sports car then this car is not for you. Or should i say, if you have enough speeding tickets then you should start looking at this car. This is an awesome car. I am looking into buying one in couple of years.

Buy one in a couple of years?
WHA?
Good luck with that "goal" let us know how that works out for ya.
If I was not buying a car for a couple of years I would be more interested in seeing what the other car companies are showing as concepts today!

I have a perfectly running car (13 years old). All i have to do is put gas and change oil. I am looking for a change that is why i want one in couple of years. Also the Avalon has a better than average gas millage for a HP/size ratio.

The Maxima, Impala, and Taurus are 1 mpg behind it in the EPA average rating.

That isn't really that good of a deal, FYI the Maxima starts $3k cheaper and that pays for a lot of gas. The Taurus starts at $25k with the limited at $33k. I don't care enough about the Impala to look it up.

BTW I have a Maxima with 200k miles in it and I have no complaints about it. The avalon is just bigger, more room and comfy.

Does Toyota even have car designers? Or is the design an afterthought?

I think they make this car ugly on purpose. If the Avalon were attractive, people would have a hard time justifying $60k for a Lexus LS.

Just another cheap POS that toyota has spent NO R&D money on developing a better version so thay can reap huge profits because of "stupid" Toyota brand loyalist.
Those Toyota Loyalist are going to be real happy when they go to trade those cars with the recalls in a few years. HAHAHA where is your great resale value now because no one will want those death mobiles.

Nice 009, more toyota articles.

You still ignore the 1.3 million vehicle recall by GM

You also post an article saying toyota is trying to "lure" customers with 0% financing, well, where is your post on this?

GM to offer 0% APR for 60 months financing on most 2010 models: http://www.egmcartech.com/2010/03/04/gm-to-offer-0-apr-for-60-months-financing-on-most-2010-models/

Since it is a toyota you need to question the safety! i.e. look elsewhere if you want a safe car.
