Honda says that fuel-cell-powered cars are the future
Instead of hybrids or electric cars, Honda is firm in its belief that fuel-cell-powered cars are “the ultimate mobility solution of the future,” according to its president Takanobu Ito.

At the unveiling of its latest hybrid model — the CR-Z — at the Geneva Motor Show, Ito said that for the future, Honda will continue to offer low CO2 powertrains but that it would be fuel-cell vehicles, such as its FCX Clarity, that would sell by volumes in the future. Ito added that Honda has recently made a solar powered hydrogen refining unit without a compressor that’s 25% more efficient than previous units. He explained that this unit is perfect for home use so consumers won’t have to purchase hydrogen elsewhere. In early 2011, a Jazz hybrid will arrive in Europe.

Who knows what technology will be the one. One things for sure the most efficent fuel is gasoline. As far as CO2 emmissions, I wonder if the environmental community would like us all just to stop breathing.

I am not sold on the fuel cel idea, it sounds like they would be little atomic bombs driving around.lol I would like to see if you could do a road trip in one without infrastructure.

The hydrogen economy has been 10 years away for 30 years.

I am still waiting for someone to figure how to make/process the hydrogen (in mass quantities) without using fossil fuels. That simple H2O bond takes more energy to crack than you might think (and more than you'll ever get back using the H2 downstream).

Someone here doesn't like to hear the reality of the situation.

I say we find a way to trap the methane that's "given off" from moose, caribou, livestock and the earth and collect it. It has a higher energy density than gasoline, diesel, natural gas, or hydrogen. We could even find a way for people to collect and store their own at home.
