Toyota FT-86 Concept inspired by the Celica, MR2, Supra and Corolla AE86
The FT-86 Concept, which had its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show, is said to be inspired by old sports cars, including the Celica, MR2, Supra and Corolla AE86 models.

This car was known as Toyobaru until its first unveiling at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. Toyota’s decision to continue looking at the future amid the recall crisis it currently faces is indeed admirable. The FT-86 Sports Concept is said to be the forerunner of a new-generation Toyota sports car that’s created to revive the spirit of the Corolla AE86.

I still say if they keep it in low to high 20's price range they can have a nice offering against the higher-priced Z. Maybe not a direct contender, but definitely something the more budget minded can afford.

And definitely to prepare people for more powerful RWD after they grew up.

Just saw a last-gen Celica while talking a walk outside over lunchtime.

I could not resist having a look at those nice rear drum brakes. And they where painted in red :-)

You know whats funny. I painted my calipers and drums too. But I painted them black, so they don't look old and rusty.

The whole concept is alluring, but the look is not.

nothing wrong with the looks. it has hints of LF-A genes. that alone will generate showroom traffic AND SALES.

Much more exciting than the Celica ever was.
