Lexus Announces Limited Production IS 350C F-Sport Special Edition
Lexus today announced the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $57,500 for the 2010 IS 350C F-Sport Special Edition which will arrive at dealerships later this month.  The MSRP does not include a delivery, processing and handling fee of $875.

“The F-Sport Special Edition builds on the IS 350C and takes the fun of the convertible up another notch,” said Mark Templin, Lexus Division group vice president and general manager.  “The F-Sport accessories on this car were precision engineered specifically for this vehicle, allowing us to provide sport-tuned performance without sacrificing ride quality.”

This 2010 IS 350C Special Edition was designed to engage driving enthusiasts with the performance and styling enhancements from the F-Sport accessories line.  This IS 350C, only available in two colors, Tungsten Pearl or Obsidian, can be distinguished from other IS convertibles by the following F-Sport equipment:
  • Newly designed 19-inch forged alloy wheels with a wheel lock set and Michelin Pilot Sport 225/35ZR19 tires in the front and 255/35ZR19 tires in the rear;
  • Front and rear brake upgrade for a firmer pedal feel and enhanced fade resistance;
  • New and unique F-Sport grille not previously available;
  • Shock set developed in cooperation with Bilstein®;
  • Lowering springs that reduce the ride height approximately one-inch in the front and rear;
  • Sway bar set that helps reduce body roll and provide flatter cornering;
  • Embroidered floor mats with F-Sport logo;
  • Leather-wrapped shift knob with F-Sport logo;
  • And exterior badging and an individually numbered badge on the center console complete the uniqueness of this vehicle.
The IS 350C F-Sport Special Edition also comes with black leather-trimmed seats with sporty blue contrast stitching.  Other Special Edition standard features include heated and ventilated front seats with wood trim; Bi-Xenon HID headlamps with Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS); headlamp washers; and Lexus Navigation.  The hard disk drive (HDD) navigation system has a seven-inch VGA touch-screen, Bluetooth® phonebook download capabilities, a rear back-up camera, Voice Command casual-language voice recognition system, Lexus Enform, XM® NavTraffic, XM® NavWeather, and XM® Sports and Stocks.  XM services include a complimentary 90-day trial subscription.  It is also features the new telematics system Lexus Enform™ with Safety Connect™ (includes complimentary one-year trial subscription).

“The IS 350C F-Sport Special Edition is a unique package of style and excitement.  With only 100 units available nationwide they’ll sell out fast to customers who want power, performance and a little more fun under the sun,” said Templin.

Does F-Sport stands for FAUX-SPORT ?

I think they should stick with their Pebble beach and gold crests editions.

So for all that upcharge you get some new shocks, wheels, badges and upgrades to the hard drive? FAIL. Why call it F-sport if there is no actual sport. Where is the hp advantage? Acura offers HID standard, surprised others still do not. BMW's and Mercedes look cheap when driving around with the same headlights as my Toyota Matrix.

The IS is to me overpriced already anyways.

When a competitor to the 3 series is slower in a straight line, you praise the handling capabilities of the 3 series as superior. Yet, when the competition upgrades everything that will improve the handling (not saying it will better anything, only improve on its own) you have a problem with that? I guess your just another hater, big F'in surprise.

As far as this car goes, I think its absurd they did it to the convertible and not the IS350 sedan. (1) This is worst looking convertible in its class and (2) Convertibles are less sporty by nature vs. coupes/sedans due to loss of rigidity and weight gain.

The IS would look good as a coupe and the 350 is already a very potent engine, so hopefully they'll figure out that its a better idea to make a package like this for the IS350 sedan (which will also cost less).

As a matter of fact dip****, the type of car I drive should not have a bearing on my ability to post my opinions. I don't see the need to drop 40-50k on a luxury car when I commute over 50 miles a day in the Northeast. Small, good mpg, AWD, and cargo room. Plus with over 110,000 miles on a 2005 and it still runs perfectly with VERY little maintenance.

I think I did melt it a little bit. The comment was taken personally I guess.

I do see how my comment above would have been in about 6 different directions between sportiness, cost, and then headlights. I've just never been a big proponent of the nomenclature. They call it sport which to me means a faster car, not just a better handling one. Maybe I should change my thoughts on that one.

P.S. - you got a boost

I have to agree with the HID headlamp comment made by Whelan. Especially at dawn or dusk, these premium vehicles look kind of silly and ordinary without that blue hue coming down the street.

Anyway, the tweak in the suspension and braking stated for this edition should be done across the board no matter which IS you pick. The IS isnt really geared towards the "plush" luxury crowd anyways. With that said, all the upgrades left should just be considered an "F" appearance package. I dont see anything else so "special" over the standard IS350C that warrants a 60K price tag.

Oh, and to M35MT: You stated above that Lexus should have done this on the sedan. If I recall, the F-Sport edition was indeed offered first on the 2009 IS350 sedan. (correct me if Im wrong)
