SPIED: Spies Capture Buick's Baby In Germany, Inside AND Out
Carscoop reports:

We still don't know the name of Buick's all-new small sedan that will take its place right under the 2011 Regal in the carmaker's line up, but these latest spy shots from Germany give us our best look to date of the upcoming compact-sized model's exterior and interior design.

And if the styling looks familiar that's because Buick's baby sedan is in essence the North American version of the upcoming Opel Astra sedan.

From what we gather by looking at these revealing spy shots, the only differences worth mentioning aside from the badges concern Buick's signature waterfall grille and possibly, the styling of the tail lights.

As with the 2011 Buick Regal and the Opel Insignia, the small sedan's interior is identical to that of the recently revealed Astra hatchback.

why would anyone need a car smaller than the regal??? would an adult even fit into such a thing?

The Regal is a midsize, this is a compact (Civic, Corolla sized).

The article mentions that this car is basically another attempt by GM to market the Astra in North America. The last attempt was by Saturn, but I think that was an error because the prices that the Astra commanded approached those of larger cars. I think the pricing of this, a premium badged model, will be in line with what VW is asking for the Jetta and what BMW is asking for the 1-series. I would advise GM to forgo the 1.4L turbo in this model and offer the 1.6L and the 2.0L instead. Can we say 180hp and 2.0hp?!? If you think this is a far-fetched idea, Vauxhall and Opel do sell a 2.0L turbo version with 240hp (called the Astra OPC) in Europe...

Just offer it with the Turbo Diesel that is available in the Astra in Europe...and they would NOT be able to keep it in stock

This is gross. Inside and out. This is what they dropped Pontiac for? This doesnt say premium ANYWHERE. It looks like what it should have been: a Saturn.

No it looks like a preproduction testing model. Once the stickers are off and the paint is final it will look much better. Is the like the 1st spy photo you have seen?
