SPIED: Audi's A8 Gets S-Tastic
AutoExpress reports:

The new Audi A8 flagship is on its way and these exclusive pictures show the next-generation S8 up-close for the first time. Dressed all in black, beneath its elegant, executive exterior beats a ferocious performance-packed heart.

The
car in the pictures was spotted outside a service station in Germany by our team of eagle-eyed spies, but don't judge this Audi on first appearances - this is no ordinary car. Apart from a few subtle giveaways the Audi’s identity would have remained anonymous, but the pair of twin exhausts at the rear and the extra large brake rotors and callipers reveal a much more exciting story.

Still in the early stages of development, the test car we captured is not wearing any badges and doesn’t feature any of the sportier bodywork that is worn across the “S” range.

true indeed. this looks much better than the light bronze colored model they've been showing. I didn't care for this new design at first, but I saw it at my local car show and it looks much better in person (as does the new E-Class, and the new Jaguar XJ - the Jag looks good in photos, but is jaw-droppingly stunning in person)... I like the new A8, but I still don't consider this design an improvement over the old one.

Take away the grill and this is one of the most boring designs on the road.

that could be said of any and all Audis (save the R8 & TT) in the last decade.

I also think the outgoing A8 is a better design. This new one lost some lines especially from the side/doors of it's predecessor, looks quite bland and just too much like a stretched A4.
