Volvo re-engineers S60 platform
To deliver on its claim of producing the best-handling saloon it has ever made, Volvo has re-engineered the Ford Mondeo/Volvo S80 platform that underpins the new S60. While the S80’s Control Bladerear suspension is unchanged, it is now made of aluminum.

The reduced weight allows for better ride and handling. Product boss Hans Nilsson said that while the structure is the same, it’s actually “much lighter.”

Going chinese they'll soon start reverse-engineer the competition
