STUD or DUD: The 2011 BMW 5-Series Touring Makes Its Debut, Is It The Best Looking Wagon, EVER?
BMWBlog reports:

Ahead of its scheduled release, the 2011 BMW 5 Series Touring breaks cover. The leaked photos showed up this morning on the German magazine Bild.de and reveal one of the best looking Touring/Wagons ever built by BMW.

The new BMW 5er Touring will be revealed to the public for the first time when the Auto Mobil International (AMI) Show opens on the Leipzig Fairgrounds 10 – 18 April 2010.

As seen in these official photos, the new 5 Series Touring has grown in size and the rear-end sports a more coupeish-like roof. 5 Series Touring is considerably lower and sleeker than the 5 Gran Turismo model, but without sacrificing that sportiness much needed by the BMW buyers. Inside, the 5er Touring features a three-part rear seat which is folded by hand.

Engine wise, the F11 Touring will come in two flavors of six-cylinder petrol engine...

The bar on this car really should start at DUD, and go down from there.

Definitely agree the RS6 looks better. Even the B8 S4 Avant in my view looks good. I've got an E39 Touring but I think Audi does a better job overall with their wagons.

Makes the 5GT more irrelevant, bringing it here would be product suicide. Anyways, it'll probably make its way to Canada. Just buy it across the border and bring it back home, given you can afford the extra duty/taxes.
Think of the exclusivity! ;)

At first I thought it was a typical autospies bmw post, but after looking at the pics it really does look nice... STUD for sure.

Looks good. I've got the E39 Touring in the stable and going to keep it. Would consider adding this as well after seeing the real deal, driving it etc.

Which is worse: A station wagon or a mini-van?

Wagons are cool - I've got one and I'm not ashamed of it.

I think Dodge did a good job when they came out with the magnum. But Im not fan of Wagons or Vans.

Maybe the best looking "BMW wagon" ever.

Great car to own and drive. I'm on my third. BMW says its only a slim chance of coming to US...likely just a marketing ploy to bolster sales of 5GT which has not been well received. Look for wagon to be imported in first half of 2011.

Not a fan of wagons but this is looking much better than it's predecessor.

The irony is how much better the 5 station wagon will handle compared to the 5GT for significantly less.

The 5GT has a higher center of gravity, is overweight, a gas guzzler, and performance numbers will not be impressive compared to a similarly equipped 5 station wagon.

Might just be the best looking wagon ever - thus putting it slightly below the damn ugly Prius.

Nice. I'd buy it if I was in the market for a wagon. Can't wait for the sedan to hit the streets...that looks awesome.
