Which Luxury Sedan Do You HATE Most And Why?
Everyone has their favorite luxury sedan and the reasons why certain people like one over the other are numerous.

But today, we don't want to know which one you love most.

We want to know which one curdles your blood when you see it and that makes you say BAD things in your head when you see someone driving one.

And what is it about it that makes you SO disgusted when it comes to mind.

OK AutoSpies readers, pick the luxury sedan you hate most...Make AND Model please. And tell us WHY you hate it most.

And ONLY cars 2008 or newer.

Cadillac DTS. It's the last truly ugly Caddy, it burns me up inside knowing that Cadillac is making such great strides, yet they still aren't there on all fronts yet.

XYZ : "at least until recently, lexus never offered lowly FOUR-BANGERS like all of the supposedly "prestigious" euro brands do".

"Lexus" actually does offer lowly four bangers. They're called Toyota Corolla.
Another way to look at it, Toyota offers wannabe "luxury" cars called Lexus. Even Hyundai is now offering so called luxury cars.

"at least until recently, lexus never offered lowly FOUR-BANGERS like all of the supposedly "prestigious" euro brands do."

Those Euro brands have a history and heritage that Lexus can only dream about. Also, those Euro brands are specially adapted to global markets where a 4-cylinder engine is nothing to be ashamed about. Lexus claims they are a global brand but in reality their cars are still targeted at silly Americans who demand a V8 but drive like they're better off with a 4-cylinder.

"and you don't see lexus TAXI-CABS in japan either!"

You don't see Lexus cars being used as taxis because they're gas-guzzlers and relatively cramped (GS especially).

And I don't understand this hate on luxury cars that are used as taxis. In the case of Mercedes their use as taxis has actually enhanced their image from a durability and quality perspective. It's great advertising for the brand. I live in Munich and I see Mercedes, BMW and Audi taxis ALL THE TIME. I see and also work with tourists (mostly Americans) who ride in them and on a few occasions I've heard them comment positively on the experience.

This has got to be the dumbest post ever. Oh, and learn how to spell "embarrassment" and "through" properly. It might help your credibility.

As if anyone doesn't know my choice would be.

BOTH examples I had owned were disappointments.

My original LS ran great and was reliable, however the paint and leather wore out at alarming rates. Appeals to Lexus were met with disbelief and unwillingness to back the product. After 4 years of ownership, this garage kept vehicle almost looked like it had been in the elements for 20 years with zero care.

The RX my wife had to have, barely lasted a year before the threat of legal action persuaded the car to go back under the lemon law. This is the only car in the last 20 years to leave me stranded on the side of the road (twice). Every time it went to the shop the end result was "issue not replicated". The last time it was in they replaced the ECU which seemed to resolve the issue, however it was too late.

Lexus may be perfect for some people (my dad in particular, loves his)however I would rather have something a bit more "less perfect" that at least I feel confident in.

That includes older design Cadillacs like the DTS (and, unfortunately, the new XTS concept), all those new Buicks and Lincolns (based on FWD platforms), all Acuras, Lexus ES and HS (and coming CT), Saabs, Volvos, and even most Audis (A4+ have improved proportions lately, but are still FWD platforms).

Appreantly the Spies hate the second generation Acura RL after it has not been completely cleaned of snow/ice. Especially those Canadian ones, they just burn you up huh?

I'd have to say Mercury and Lincoln. Lincoln just cannot seem to get their feet off the ground despite two generations of new model lineups, nomenclature changes, etc.

And even though Ford is doing really well. Mercury has no image, they are regrilled Fords. There is no distinction that makes them stand out. At least with say an Infiniti and a Nissan you can see the differences. Ford/Mercury? Save the cash and get a loaded Ford.

The Town Car at least is going on production for this year, and maybe the next. Ford at the moment apparently has no plans to cancel or update the cars other than some updated features. BTW those models are the first in history to claim 5 star ratings in all 5 categories for safety for the last 7 years.

merc.

Everything about this organization is a scam, a propaganda machine, an opportunist for so-called innovation and reinvention when the organization itself doesn't even have a clear vision or mission about the direction of its organization, and last but not the least, its living-in-a-primitive-cave cult fanatics with an egocentric view of the automotive industry.

Whenever quality and reliability issues of this orga. is being questioned, taxi drivers, in particular, are the ones who are being used as their propaganda mascot and as the so-called evidence and proof to demonstrate their quality and reliability as chosen by this particular occupation. They had done so 100 years ago, 75 years ago, 50 years ago, 35 years ago, 15 years, and still doing it these days. I'd been to Munich and Stuttgart several times every year and rode in different taxi cabs. Not one driver had ever mentioned the reliability and quality of this orga as the major factor of their occupational transportation. Simply put, some of them didn't have a choice, whether it's for economic reasons or others (such as they belonged in a fleet service that has contract with certain orga). Last but not the least is its die-hard fanatics, on this forum or elsewhere, who have such a distorted view of this rotten company. If you didn't agree with them, you are either assassinated or are the dumbest person in the world. Some members here reminded me so much of the forum members on Mbworld, benzsport, and other merc forums back in its very early days. If you said something negative about it (such as its fishline thin window regulator and flaky harmonic balancer), then you are dumb and hopeless because there will never be anything wrong about this orga and its products, period. For these reasons, this company may be perceived as one elegant luxury brand, but deep down it is rotten to the core -its organizational and membership cultures.

Now, flame suit on...

No offense (well maybe a little)but I find these kind of articles to be extremely pointless. It reminds me of people who needs to put down others in order to make themselves feel better. Instead of bitching about cars, how about make constructive critism.

As we all know autospies or the people that go on autospies have a general favoritism toward a certain "brand" of cars and those who say otherwise gets called trolls for purely putting their own opinion out there. So why do we feel the need to make these unnecessary articles about what do we hate when I'm pretty sure we all know what the majority of people are going to say again.

I have to defend the Lincoln Town Car, a little bit. It's not a modern design, but for what it is, it's not bad...styling-wise. I can't comment on the drive/performance (thankfully...?) but the styling is at least cohesive and age-appropriate. It's kind of an automotive interpretation of Art Deco. Nice.

Many of the other new Lincoln exterior designs are nice, too...they've done a nice job of balancing retro cues with modern updates. The interiors are mostly crap, agreed--but they're not completely ugly on the outside.

As far as which ones I hate...
1) Lexus RX. I know it's popular. But it's ugly.
2) Audi anything. I just don't get it. The weird lines, and the LED "eyebrows" are way too gimmicky. They were leading the pack, but I think they choked under the pressure.
3) Jaguar anything. Another whole line up that I just don't get. They have an incredible heritage, but their current designs are squandering it. Pick a style...any style, and stick with it.
4) Acura anything. I don't even know where to start. Terrible.
5) Infiniti FX. They're just weird looking.
6) BMW 7-series. Even the redesign. Damn you, Bangle. Serious.

And one thing I hate is being pretentious.

In such a case, my rant of mer is miniscule compared to some of the pretentious drivers who drive a Camry-wanna-be vehicle - which is the real life tale of The Emperor's New Clothes.
