2010 Alfa Romeo Giulietta to use Chrysler’s hybrid powertrain
Chrysler will take over the research and development of hybrid powertrains as part of the partnership with Fiat. The resulting technologies that will be developed will be used by both companies.

Chrysler will be responsible for the raw build of the technology, while Fiat will take charge of the fine tuning of the powertrain to make it a fit for each brand. An InsideLine report said that the Alfa Romeo Giulietta will be the first Italian car to get an American hybrid powertrain. The car is offered in numerous engines: For petrol, it has the 1.4TB (120 HP) and 1.4TB MultiAir (170 HP); while the diesel engines include 1.6 JTDM (105 HP) and 2.0 JTDM (170 HP) as well as an exclusive 1750 TBi – 235 HP with Quadrifoglio Verde configuration.
