Lexus Announces Pricing For The LFA, AND It Is A Duesy

Lexus Announces Pricing For The LFA, AND It Is A Duesy
If you are one of the few that was selected by Lexus to lease out their supercar, the LFA, get ready to pony up some dough.

The 24-month lease payments will accumulate to $297,562.56 or just under $12,400 per month.

And there are some hoops to jump through. For instance, you are required to undergo not one but two credit checks. This means the first time around a buyer has to make an initial $10,000 deposit and pass a screening process, then for the second go-around, the customer will have to put up another $50,000. Finally, when the LFA is delivered there will be the second credit approval.

You have to ask yourself, is the LFA worth all of this exclusivity?

Take a look below at all of the LFA's details and options. There is a lot of room for this vehicle to stand out from each other.

Not that we think many LFA owners will be bumping into each other...

Lexus' press release follows:

Lexus LFA Pricing Announcement

Lexus is pleased to announce the launch of the LFA, Lexus' first ever supercar that delivers world-class design, performance, and cutting edge technology.

A Race Car that is Street Legal A radical departure from standard Lexus development, a band of engineers approached the LFA from a non-traditional angle, pushing their technological, material, and engineering boundaries every step of the way. The result, a tour de force powered by a 4.8L V10 engine that generates 552 hp and a remarkable 9,000rpm redline. Reaching 60 mph in 3.6 seconds with a top speed over 200 mph = Super High Performance! This race-inspired power plant is mated to a uniquely developed six-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox (ASG) with paddle shifters for ultimate driver control.

Weight-saving measures were implemented in every area in the development process. The LFA features advanced Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) construction for its chassis and much of its bodywork to deliver a light, extremely strong, and impact-resistant structure. It also has carbon ceramic brake discs, and a host of other technological marvels.

Customer Notification

Customers will be notified within a March – June 2010 timeframe of their opportunity to order a Lexus LFA. Due to the limited production of the Lexus LFA of 500 cars globally, and customer response which has exceeded the number of available cars, it is possible that not all customers who expressed interest will have an opportunity to order a Lexus LFA.

Once customers are notified of their opportunity to order a car, they will have 10 business days to place a $10,000 deposit with, and submit a credit screening form to, their dealer. A customer must obtain credit approval in order to remain eligible to order an LFA. If the customer's credit has not been approved, the customer will not have the opportunity to order an LFA.

Once credit is approved, the customer will deposit an additional $50,000 with their selected dealer at the time they place the order for their car. A second credit approval immediately prior to the scheduled delivery date must also be obtained in order for the customer to take delivery of the LFA.

If you have any questions about the notification and/or ordering process, please contact [REDACTED].
LFA Lease Program is through Lexus dealer and Lexus Financial Services

All LFAs will be available only through a 1Pay 24 month lease via your Lexus dealer and Lexus Financial Services (LFS). You will have the option to purchase the Lexus LFA at lease maturity.

1Pay Lease Program for 24 months The LFA 1Pay Lease program is structured for you to prepay all monthly payments in a single payment at lease signing. In general, this single total lease payment is less than the amount you would pay over the life of a conventional lease.

How will the 1PAY lease work?

¾ Special reduced lease rate will apply.
¾ 24 monthly payments are calculated and collected in one lump sum (1PAY) at lease
inception. ¾ Any deposits made on the LFA will be applied to the 1PAY amount due
What will payments look like on a 1PAY lease?
Example:
MSRP:
$375,000
Term:
24 months
Monthly Payment x 24 = 1Pay Amount:
$12,398.44 x 24 = $297,562.56
Residual Value:
$93,750

Notes:

Rates used to calculate payments are for example purposes only and are subject to change and will vary depending on final price of the vehicle and credit qualification.

Lease payments do not include acquisition fee, sales tax, license, or title & registration fees.

A $700 acquisition fee is due at lease signing. A security deposit is not required.

The lease example above assumes a mileage limit of 15,000 miles/year.

$375,000 for a Lexus?!?!? Let's see.......they are making only 500 of these so that's a grand total of around 188 million.

That should pay for at least one of Toyota's lawsuits. Geez- if they just jacked up the price to a cool million they could pay for all of their coming settlements.

what people don't realize is this car is made of carbon fiber- the ferrari's and lamborghini's are made of alloy metals like aluminum. Sure they have SOME carbon fiber, but their bodies aren't all Carbon Fiber. This is. The only cars that are all carbon fiber bodied are Carrera GT, Ferrari Enzo. How much are they? 500K-1 million. This is 375K. Is faster than both around the ring, and faster than both around the Top Gear track. Even faster than the Gallardo in the WET with ONLY RWD. While the Gallardo has 4WD. Oh did I mention it beat it by 3 seconds? SO much for your beloved italian marks. The 458 is the cheap looking car of the bunch, and what's up with the new mclaren? can you seriously say it looks good with that hideous front bumper? What about the 458's outlandish headlights? The triple exhaust that was an obvious rip-off of the LFA. Even the California has the stacked tail-pipes rip-off from the IS-F. Get to know your car facts before you start blindly posting hate bait. Auotspies posters=lame euro fan boys who don't know quality when they see one. If you ever have the opportunity to sit in a BMW then sit in a Lexus, you will notice the difference in fit and finish quality of the latter. It's like moving from good to great. The LFA is the same way. Other supercars will have you believe they have the best materials, the nicest this and that, but really you can find the same stuff in a vw golf as you can in the audi r8. its like the ZR1 using chevy cobalt steering wheels and heater vents- I laugh at people's idiocy here. Grow up and get out of your pampers. every hater here sounds like they've soiled themselves.

The IS has better interior fit & finish than the Low spec 3 Series but only in Layout. when you actually look at the Quality of the Materials used you see that the BMWs are much better in all areas. {PLASTIC, LEATHER, ALLOYS}

Also the Enzo and Carrera GT are both over 6 Years Old.

The Current 599 even though it is Steel Alloy is able to match the LFA and you can be rest assured any Halo vehicle launched by Porsche or Ferrari would be able to Beat the current 599.

So my question is this. Why go to all the trouble of producing an All Carbon vehicle which you have to sell at a price point in comparisons with Carrera GTs, Enzos and Koenigsegg CCXs when the final product has none of the PRESENCE or DRAMA of those vehicles, does not push the performance envelope like those vehicles did when they were launched and there are currently heavier vehicles with exact performance figures which are actually cheaper ?

"and what's up with the new mclaren? can you seriously say it looks good with that hideous front bumper?"

lol, the Mclaren has a carbon fiber tub as well, and it can be made in less time than some steel bodied cars, and the car annihilates the lfa in performance, and it comes standard with interior amenities you have to fork out extra for in the lfl. Also, the front bumper, may not be the nicest one in automotive history, but it is still 100x better then the lfl nose.

"The 458 is the cheap looking car of the bunch"

What are you smoking?

"you will notice the difference in fit and finish quality of the latter"

ya... plastic everywhere and cheap user unfriendly knobs and switches littering every corner of the vehicle. That's a sure sign of lexus finish lol.

And on a final thought, if Toyota/lexus was so good at not transplanting parts to all of their vehicles, why on earth do they have a pedal recall for 8 of their models on one issue?

Did I miss something? $60k in deposits and nowhere did it say that up front money would be deducted down the road? If that's the case here's what you're actually paying for the LF-A:
$10000 Deposit #1
$50000 Deposit #2
$297562 Lease Payments, due up front
$93750 Lease end buyout
-------
$451312 Total, plus tax, plus $700 Lease Acquisition Fee, for the base car with no options and an MSRP of $375000.

I understand that cars can sell for over MSRP on the secondary market, and dealers sometimes charge over MSRP, but never before have I seen an instance where the MANUFACTURER themselves does it. With those deposits Lexus is effectively charging $60k over sticker. That's absolutely ridiculous when you could get a McLaren or Ferrari for half that.
