First Nissan GT-R to run a 9 second 1/4 mile
The performance number trackers over at DragTimes.com have the scoop on the first Nissan GT-R to break into the 9's in the 1/4 mile running an astounding 9.9 @ 146.9 MPH at Lone Star Raceway in Texas. This Nissan GT-R was built by AMS and has a full line of performance modifications ranging from upgraded turbochargers to a 90mm full exhaust system and upgraded transmission parts.

Welcome to the 21st century. Its no big deal. Modified EVO's and STI's have been running 9s for years. Guess that transmission isn't too weak after all.

It still sucks that you have a supercar that you have to treat gently, even on track days, to make sure it lasts. I was hoping that the 21st Century would make that go away completely.

That was done with a dodge dart 42 years ago. GT-R is still cool though.
