PHOTO GALLERY: 2011 Ford Mustang FIRST Drive - The REAL DEAL Or Poseur?
One of the greatest acts since Houdini, our very own Agent001 is out in Los Angeles driving the updated 2011 Ford Mustang. Not only will he be piloting the updated V6 with more than 300-horsepower but he will also be getting the opportunity to drive the all-new 5.0 with a tad over 410-ponies.
We cannot provide any driving opinions due to an embargo, which will lift on 3/29, but as always we have brought you the first detailed photographs of the car.
And in true 001 fashion, he has captured some very compelling shots of the new 'Stang.

By the way, there is no coincidence that the Audi A5 made an appearance at the event. According to 001, Ford had the A5 on display and said it "aspires" to get the quality levels of the Mustang up to par with Audi.
Having driven the 2010 Mustang GT, this writer knows that it has already made leaps and bounds from previous generation Mustangs, but
we want to know will Ford ever reach the class-leading levels of Audi?
Make sure to take a look through the gallery and let us know what you like/dislike most/least about the updated Mustang.

Actually that barracuda was a rebadged Valiant which was rushed out as a Mustang imitator two weeks before the official debut of the Mustang, which had several years of development under its belt. So, to answer your question, Cudas and Challengers are poseurs to Mustangs, but I do like them too.

Dang the Mustang is sweeeeettt!!! I like how they didn't go for the Giugiaro Concept's headlights because the American ponycars are supposed to be unique, not mainstream (Giugiaro's looked too much like the Camaro)!
Also, I LOVE ALL THE OPTIONS THEY HAVE!

There is something about it that reminds me of a bus.
I find it a bit gimmicky, as are the changeable interior colors...
Still dig it though, excited to drive the new 5.0.

Its taken a few years, but Ford FINALLY has the right exterior design and the right engines. Now, let's fix that rear suspension ...

The interior looks a bit cheap - the center console looks more than a bit cheap.

The Ford Mustang is the only muscle car to have been in continual production since inception and it shows with the all-new 2011 Ford Mustang. Setting the muscle car benchmark is no easy task and Ford shares the spotlight with both the Chevy Camaro and the Dodge Challenger. What differentiates these carsis truly in the eyes of the beholder as the horsepower and performance numbers stack up closely. However, the 2011 Mustang seems less like a pony and more like a thoroughbred. With a class-leading 305 horsepower 3.7-liter V6 and theall-new 412 horsepower 5.0-liter V8, the battle for horsepower supremacy continues between these automakers. Chevy won’t announce its complete specifications for the 2011 Camaro until later in the year, but they are hinting at upping their horsepower.
