Hot As Fire! Reports Surface Of Tata Nanos Doubling As BBQ Grills

After the initial flurry of Nanos emitting smoke from the steering column we assumed things were fine in camp Tata.

But not for long.

Insurance agent Satish Sawant took delivery of his Tata Nano in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. Since he cannot drive, the company organized a chauffeur to deliver the car home.

On his way back, a motorcyclist on the Eastern Express Highway while overtaking signaled something was wrong to the rear of his car. Sawant turned and noticed fire. He and the driver immediately jumped out of the car to safety.

Toyota looked into making cars that spontaneously caught fire a while back........ but opted instead for ones that can't stop.

Seriously though, I bet the owner is all fired up over this....

I do not understand why you would hate the Nano. It is not aimed at you, it is not forced on you, it is not even available in the USA incase you were poor or crazy enough to want one; So for all intents and purposes you have no chance of seeing one in the Metal.

For the Indians it is aimed at, it is perfect for them. Think about this.
Man, Wife, 2 Kids and Shopping all on a 50CC MotorBike or Same family in a TATA.

I think you would choose the TATA too.

I95SPEEDINGTICKETS, I agree with you, though the purpose of my comment was merely to perpetuate the fire-related puns. I have been to India and observed the very same insanity of four people (including infants) on one small bike. The Tata is a much better choice. That said, if it were available here (a near impossibility) I wouldn't be interested. However, if they could find a way to modernize the Amby (Hindustan Motors) for export, they would have my money today.
