Nissan is in talks with Daimler to get large engines
Talks are ongoing between Nissan Motor Co. and Daimler AG over the supply of large engines, according to the Nikkei business daily. If the deal pushes through, Nissan will be supplying electric cars and batteries to Daimler.

Meanwhile, Nissan’s French partner, Renault SA, is deep into partnership talks with Daimler. It’s likely that these talks will expand into three-way negotiations. Last week, there were media reports that three-way negotiations are ongoing that an equity tie-up is possible. Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn, who also heads Renault, stated that he is open to an equity exchange. Later this week, Ghosn will brief Nissan executives about the details and goals of Renault’s partnership talks with Daimler.

Nissan cant even supply these motors to their own lineup yet. The Altima Hybrid uses the Toyota Camry Hybrid drivetrain.

"Nissan cant even supply these motors to ..."

Wow, which word in "electric cars and batteries" you don't understand?
This is about electric motors/cars and battery, not hybrid.
Toyota don't have a EV on the market. Nissan/GM will beat Toyota to it.

That's because the Leafs only market will be the assbags in San Francisco who live in the same neighborhood as Nancy Pelosi.

Nissan does have a Hybrid powertrain btw... Look no further then the M35x Hybrid. That is not a Toyota drivetrain, it was built in house and from what I understand, it is far better then the Toyota versions. The 3.5L engine on it's own gets upwards of 26mpgs. With the Hybrid, over 30 is not out of the questions. That from a 330hp V6
